all VM channels gone off?

my opinion is based on the fact that i really don't like using enigma2 devices for iptv.

android apps are far easier to use and there are a huge amount of options rather than being limited to the 3 or somain ways to use iptv on enigma2.

4k firesticks are fantastic value for money and work very well.

having said that i have an nvidia shield and the ai upscaling alone makes it worth the money for me.

Hi Grog68.
Total novice with a zgemma star h2 cable. First and only time i was confident enough to follow a guide and install a build was back in 2018 when i installed yout atv freerange build. Just the simple entering a line of code, no flashing was perfect for me and it worked perfectly, you also answered a few questions along the way. Thanks for that.

So, with the cable looking to go south, i pose a simple question. When it does, lob the zgemma in the bin and start looking for a dedicated iptv box and hopefully find a decent provider? Or when that day comes, will you be posting a straight forward, freerange style guide that a novice can adapt the box to a new lease of life as an iptv box?

Obviously, thats if you agree the entry price zgemma is up to the job as an iptv box. Like to know your thoughts....?

Thanks!
There's tons of threads on the "best box" mate (y)

Thanks. I do have a fire stick, did try the smart tv app and a trial iptv from fleabay few years back. Wasnt impressed at all so figured a dedicated box would be better..... perhaps since that test there are now better firestick option? Better apps? etc.

There's are a few apps out that are brilliant mate and as for a box, I always say it depends on your budget and what your doing with it, as @lamblamb said the shield is unreal, is it overkill for iptv...... i would say so but again it depends on budget, also the shield specs far outway anything else but again if used for more then iptv its great but as I said have look at best box threads mate there quite a few on here regarding the matter, also your box is only as good as your provider and your Internet.

Hi Mate

You could use your box as a freeview pvr by plugging tv ariel into it and changing a few settings, that is what I've done with my h52tc, have it all setup using freesat and freeview. Ideal for recording her soaps etc

You could install IPTV on your box as is but I do think the Star H2 would really struggle even with a basic setup on the box, as has already been said other devices will work better, I think the Firestick 4K is great value for money, small and descrete and easy to use, I am still debating whether to keep IPTV on by box once cable goes or to switch to a firestick.

Do remember, yes the letter in the first post of this thread has come from VM, but they have said similar things in the past, so there could be a slim chance it doesn't happen, although I am not holding my breath.

Looks like VM are changing channels around. I was watching Eurosport 1 which then all of a sudden changed to ‘We’ll be back’ screen... star gold hd also another

Thanks for the pointers ob one/grog. Like I say I was looking at trying to use my zgemma, never heard of shield, but If you tend to agree its a smart choice for iptv. I'll have a look into it. Much obliged for your advice guys.

My sub is up so I emailed my provider last night and asked for another 12 months. While I was waiting for a reply I discovered that CS is more than likely going to be ending at the start of July.

My provider replied looking for another £30 and didn't mention anything the cheeky :censored:

at that price I assume he is a cache server and so may not have heard about it as if he doesn't have the old boxes he wouldn't have had the letter.
