Lenovo thinkcentre fan noisey full speed

I have Lenovo thinkcentre all in one on windows 7. I turned it on this morning and the fan is on overtime spinning fast therfore its noisey as hell.

I read up and reset theý bios, took cmos battery out, but another thing the network adaptor isn't working. I reinstalled drivers for it but still no joy.
All about strange and a virus scan reveals nothing untoward.
I then system restored to the earliest and the same.
But, the network adapter is crossed out. I've tried installing the correct drivers (have them on a stick) and I get an installation error.
Tried everything from uni stalling the adapter to drivers to cables but stilling crossed out in the taskbar.

Quickie, could the network adapter have died therfore making the cpu fan run fast ?. And, is it a plug in network adapter or built to motherboard ?

Any help please exactly the wrong time for forking out for a new one

If fan is noisy does it need a blow job with all the crap inside, battery out and unplugged.Blocked vents etc and it can overheat.
Wifi switch on or off, tried a direct cable feed.

Thanks for the reply, I've gone over all that, its a thinkcentre M90z. Blew fan out, took cmos battery out, everything physical. I ran speccy but it never picked up an network adaptor also the correct drivers don't go in.

I take it its the Lan adaptor if so its built in you could add new network card there are spare slots

Slots

  • Slot 1: half length, 1 lane PCI Express or 1 ADD 2-R
  • Optional Slot 2: half length PCI

Networking

  • Integrated Intel Gigabit with Intel 82578DM
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n card
  • Single Port Gigabit PHY
  • Supports Intel Advanced Management Technology (iAMT), iSCSI boot, PXE, WoL
  • Host Interface - PCIe / SMBus for 5 Series Chipsets

You can download a third party fan curve that could solve your fan loudness. Once you get it on the Web. Or use another device in your household to download it.

I've spent an hour on it and different drivers but the ethernet doesn't work. Even "Speccy" doesn't even list any device.
I'm pretty much certain its a knackered network port. Its built in to the rear panel with the USB ports.
Going to try and locate a cheap 2nd hand one

I have but my spares and bits is a nightmare from hell. Honestly I spent 40 minutes looking for a figure 8 power lead earlier. I'll have to invest in one tomorrow.
I'm at that stage in life (hoarder stage)we're I've that much sh#t its quicker to buy a new one.

Its an all-in-one PC older but for my needs perfect.
I've just this minute managed to get hold of the rear panel board for £15. I would have gone with a pci adapter but I'm not unsure if a pci card would also sort the sped up fan issue.
Tbh, I tried everything before posting, reseating the rear panel, new cmos, all the Intel drivers I could find, uninstall it new ethernet cable, clean up dust etc.
When speccy program doesn't pick it up.
I'll soon find out if its that. If it is it will be the first time I've ever had an ethernet socket or network board die on me

Thats good you got it at that price hope it sorts the problem out, I did read on the link you posted that did cause the fan to speed up but were a few bad boards.
