Only by having them on will your tv report the correct resolution and match the frame rate.
With resolution off your TV will report a resolution of 2160p all the time.
Mine does if I turn it off.
My screen goes black for a second or two when changing a channel with a different resolution and frame rate.

With switch screen resolution turned on in Tivimate it reports all the correct resolutions for HD, FHD and UHD for me.
The switch screen refresh rate reports 50hz for 25fps channels and 60hz for 30fps channels.
All I can think it must be doubling the frequency for the refresh rate of just reporting the HZ

My iptv provider hasn’t got UHD channels he’s got (HEVC) not sure what that means, and my LG TV doesn’t show the HDR or HLG in the top right corner.

You will need a least resolution switching turned on in device or app settings for your tv to report the correct resolution.

I haven’t got the info button on my LG remote, I got 3 little dots on my remote it says on there AD/SAP when I press that button More Action comes up on my top right corner off the screen and it has 5 options.

What happens if you click on the option Information?
