WilloBuild WilloBuild OpenViX 6.9 Series

Do you mean it's showing in the network section of windows explorer?

Are you using the correct IP address?

Login with:

Yes windows explorer is able to detect the box os mega but entering box ip address, username and password is giving me timeout error

Go into your router settings and the zgemma box Ip address will be showing in connected devices.
I think I don't have idea on the wiring. I just connected lan cable from box to laptop after setting user and password then the same credentials are entered in windows explorer on box credentials in order to access the HDD. Nothing else is tampered with then I go to run putty

The receiver connects to the router and is allocated an IP address.
The PC is connected to the router and is also allocated an IP address so that they are on the same network.

Then follow the instructions attached to connect with putty.

Hello all. I’ve just had to do a fresh install as the box got stuck on a boot cycle. All has gone well apart from in the mount manager the type shows vfat R/W and I can’t seem to change it.

It's telling you the storage device is using a vfat file system and you can read and write to it. You can't change what is in use, you have to unmount it first. Or put receiver in deep standby and then remove the USB stick.

What were were you expecting?

If you have other storage devices and they are not mounted, you can change things in
Blue, ViX, Mount Manager, storage devices ( I think)

You can see all your storage devices with this command
df -Th

Vix seems is having problems detecting storage devices. When I put usb driver it can't be detected even in mount manager. Only internal HDD with features as explained. The problem is not happening in openatv 7.6 better.

There haven't been many posts about it on the ViX forum. Any posts have been resolved by going into Mount Manager and setting the mount points.

There was a big change in how devices are mounted on all OE-A images. ATV 7.6 uses new branch.

hi all, Looking for some help and advice, I have a zgemma h7s which i have always ended up doing a complete rebuild around every 18 months as the box / image eventually has problems and I am at that stage again with a really weird Network adapter issue.

I am going to follow the normal flash process but I wanted to ask 2 things.

1. I use XE plugin for my provider does anyone have the latest plugin install command as Last time I done it was April 2024.
2. To maintain my box correctly with OpenVIX and Willobuild Should I be enabling auto updates or running stuff manually. Always worried it would mess with the XE plugin settings.

I have always just got it working and left it on the OpenVix version I built it on as I found on occasions auto updates seem to be screwing up the image. might be just the way I set up is causing the problem. Novice when it comes to making tweaks.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide

As far as I know, the version of XE in my feeds is the latest.
What do you mean about auto updates? There is no autoupdate for ViX.
Thanks, When you say XE in your feeds is that under download plugins you mean?
I dont think I could find it there last time, I managed to locate on another thread the command to enter when connected under putty.

For updates I mean maintaining the VIX version without flashing each time. for example I am on 6.6.03 at the moment from when I last flashed and see its now 6.7.20 available. I was wondering if it was possible to maintain currency without impacting the settings and plugins.

thanks for the help

It's under plugin Downloads > Extensions > xeaio (3.3.1)

I never update software.
When new software is available (flashing green dot in infobar), I download the new image in ViX Image Manager.
Make a settings backup in Backup Manager.
Flash the new image to a different partition with Image Manager.
Restore the settings backup.

That way you always have your existing image to fall back on if it goes t1ts up.

Thank you

that makes better sense alright. Will do that approach going forward.

Hi guys. Should I run the software update regularly from pressing the blue button or just leave it alone. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it?

I'm not sure what you mean about the blue button for software updates 🤔

When watching TV, If you press OK the infobar will appear onscreen. If an update is available you'll see a flashing green symbol.
You can then check if it's a big update (50+) by pressing MENU > INFORMATION > ABOUT > YELLOW BUTTON.

If there is a big update it's best practice to use this method to update.

Make a settings backup in Backup Manager.
Download the latest image In Image Manager.
Flash the new image to a different partition with Image Manager.
Restore the settings backup.
