Yes behind the grid a little push button thing, early versions did require the board shorting on the GTCombo.

But as manic said this was posted on the Viark Combo download thread so its confusing.
 
Yes I was talking about a GT Combo box, I'm having trouble reseting the box to upload the latest firmware, I tried inserting a screwdriver into the bottom of the box to reset, but not booting to the android recovery screen.

Can take a few attempts. You obvoiusly know if you have a button now then ?

GTMedia Thread 'GTMedia Combo Forced USB Update Guide.'

1. Format your USB to Fat 32
2. Transfer GTCOMBO_v2.0_C20.A9.1.29_20240620.zip to the USB stick.
3. On the USB stick unzip the GTCOMBO_v2.0_C20.A9.1.29_20240620.zip to the USB stick also.
4. Transfer the latest Mars Firmware Mars_V3.3.3.
Your stick should end up looking like this.

5. Now power down and flip your combo over and insert USB stick i use the side USB port, now either short the points on the motherboard or press the reset button and hold it pressed and power on the Combo while still holding the reset down.
6. Keep it pressed till the Android recovery screen...

Thanks Ferret, some how I managed to update, I inserted the usb and held the reset button down, and the box automatically updated the new firmware. The other day I noticed I no longer could open the Bein channels even though I still had a couple more weeks left of vip.
Just testing Hotbird and I can open sky it even though those channels don’t go red in the channel list.

You need to trick the combo to open Bein but make sure you are on the latest Mars firmware.

With the dish at 8w you need to scan in the 8w Bein frequecies with the Combo in the 7w menu without the box going to 7w.

Not always possible if your dish is high up but i did this by parking dish at 8w disconnecting the motor and then cable going directly to LNB then scanning 8w frequencies on the 7 west position in the menu of the Combo.

I guess you could also use diseqc 1.2 and inch the dish while at 7w menu to 8w and scan.

I'm using my Ultimo4k to steer my dish, so no problem with 7 & 8 west.

Been trying to check my expiry date but when I go into network then 666 no heading comes up for cs protocol am I missing something ?

Are you on the latest firmware and have done a reboot of your router and V8 ?

It should be under server settings

Yes mate latest firmware , rebooted as usual on encrypted channel getting usual id number appearing then usually says buffering split second then channels usually open , but not doing that , wanted check sub status even though I now it's not expired but cannot get info , menu click on network , should I highlight any sub heading before doing 666 then should I see cs protocol (I don't ) then epg ? 👍

Try 6666 sometimes needs the extra 6 to bring up the CA menu

Menu-Network-6666-CS Protocol-Server Setting

Or as @weimaraner95 says the standard mars sub will be seen on the VOD app
