Firestick alternatives

100mbps lan. Straightaway that’s a minus. I’d also want to know if the 2gb ram is ddr4 not ddr3 ?
why such an affiliation with gb lan, the designers of these boxes know 4k runs on less than 50mbps, so absolutely no need for anything more. Thats like only looking at cars capable of 150mph when never going to drive outside local 20mph zone lol

I have a few 4K Blu-ray remux high bitrate files on my plex server, they will not play smoothly on the boxes I have tried with 100mbps. Then Iptv , if im watching 4K streams from 2 seperate playlists in tivimate at once. I pay for 500mbps so it makes sense not to be restricted.

That's probably more poor spec device than the 100mbps limit

Entirely possible. But , 100mbps v 1000mbps. For me its a no brainer. Withe the advent of fast fibre BB , all good boxes are supplied with gb lan. Also gb lan gives me more headroom when multiple other devices are being used at the same time. I reember trying to report what I thought was a fault years ago by telephone and my providerr pointed out that 13 devices were online at that time.

So where is this sk3 as i can't find it. Noticed there's a sk4, is that supposed to be even better as it doesn't even have a 1 Gig ethernet port. These aren't ATV devices, just media players. Great if you're only playing games and local files, terrible if you want to be streaming, or am i missing something here.
Someone mentioned on the Ugoos Telegram that they don’t have any current plans for it.

13 devices on your network is dependent on available download speed that requires dividing amongst them but thats totally seperate from the limit of each device spec wise

Look for a box with the S905X5M soc one is noted on the Alternatives thread. I went with a Tanis TX5 Plus. I can not fault it.
Did you get it from aliexpress? My firestick is on its last legs and I read they aren't a good buy anymore. The Chinese boxes seem good but not sure if the support streaming services or play store so wanted to check if yours does.

Yes Aliexpress was the cheapest option although you can find them on ebay.

Just make sure you get the 64gb or above version.

Thanks for letting me know, I do have fibre but I think all these boxes just go to 100mb. That should still be good enough for tv and streaming services right? Did you end up trying over wifi?
Make sure lan port is GB not 100mb. I sent an x96 back to Amazon, was advertised as GB lan but when tested it was 100mb.

As long as you are not streaming high bitrate remux files from a Debrid,Plex, Jellyfin or local network storage then you should be ok.
What would the recommended speed needed for that be? I've streamed 4k titles in the past and my tv changed colours and changed to hdr mode I think. That still worked just fine, getting 565 download over wifi with my phone but I assume the box won't be able to be as fast.

200mb but you could just try WiFi if needed.
