cable boxes

Any Linux E2 combo should be fine.

Just pick one that suits your budget.

Check out the combo section on world of sat.

You will need a cable line

You can post a request here

and I sat line if you are going to run both

This will allow you to record on sat and watch cable or vise versa, or record on both tuners at the same time.

You will need a USB HDD to store your recordings on.

You can post a request for a sat line here

Some servers supply both types of line.

Get your box supplied with the vix image, then just follow the tutorial here

Post a new thread in the general cable section if you get stuck

Somebody will help out (y)

Can someone please help me to select a hybrid (DVB-S and DVB-C) and enigma2 supporting box in price range £70 to £90? I can see there is lot of support for Amiko min HD combo, same time it appears people are buying Zgemma-start H1. I already have VU+ Solo2 but i feel USB cable tuner is not great to HD over VM line. Many thanks.

Cheapest E2 box with official vix image is the Xpeed Combo £130

Zgemma uses a modded "clone safe" vix image and is cheaper, other images can be used, but don't seem as popular

Amiko isn't E2 it's closed source

Thanks for your reply. I do not want to spend more so I will cut my expectations from box. Which DVB-C box would you recommend if I want to watch vermin, good HD quality, does not take long to change channel, has good support, 7 days EPG, can record on internal or external drive. Thanks.

I've been using a Amiko Mini HD SE for about 6 months now and its been fine but its very basic. Channel management is hideous.

Thinking of going a bit more upmarket plus would like to link my Kodi install to a new box, any recommendations (cable box or duo) - Thinking Vu+ or Gigablue but interested in the xtrend. Really after the quickest most powerful processor.
