Setting up a OpenBox V8S HD for the first time

Bought an open box V8S recently started off working well now having a lot of problems with crashing and TV being scrambled . Don't know if it's more of a problem with my wifi (sky) it's really quite slow at times. Anyone got any ideas?

I have tried to upgrade the channel list in my box but it keeps failing???

Does anyone know how to upgrade the channel list for the V8S box as I have lose a few channels and need to upgrade

I have done that and it did upgrade the channels but now it has moved all the numbers over, so the channels now start at number 101 and in the 200's there is nothing??? any ideas on how to put it all back to normal with the upgrade?? many thanks all!!

I take it that you have installed CWAITE's list which starts at ch101 (AJ's list starts at ch1). Don't know why you haven't got any channels in the 200's though?

If you want your channels to start on ch1, & don't want them to follow the sky numbers, then try AJ's list. Bear in mind that a few members have had problems with AJ's list bricking their boxes!

I did do the AJ's list first and it did not upgrade at all, so I tried CWAITE's and it upgraded but the list numbers are all over the place???

I have always used AJ's lists with no problems. Perhaps you could try downloading it again?

So are the channels that should be in the 200's actually missing, (e.g. 201 Syfy, 202 E4, 204 Universal, 217 Sky1), or are they somewhere else?

Did you delete your current channel list before installing the new one?
 
I have downloaded AJ's list a few times and nothing happened.

all channels in the 200's are missing, they have gone on to other numbers and No I did not delete first

does that help?
 
When I remember to do so, I delete the current channel list first, just to give me a clean slate, & to make sure that the new channel list has actually been installed correctly.
 
Hi everyone, Just got a V8s and am trying to read the dummies guide in this thread but it's taking me to a page saying I dont have permission?

Hi everyone. I'm new here and bought a v8s openbox today and trying to set it up. Why is it saying no signal? Any advice thanks.
 
Hi guys, bought a openbox v8s with 12 month gift which should give me all the scrambled channels off ebay,should arrive tomorrow, pretty confidant in being able to set it up etc,just wondering if I get sky box office with that? Thanks in advance

is the openbox actually any good feel like sending it back already !
 
Hi guys I'm all new to this, just purchased a Openbox v8s and would like to activate all the channels, I was told it was plug and play but it's not, could I get help from start to finish how to get it working
