Hi,
I have a Mag 256 and have noticed on occasions that straight after turning it on it switches straight back off. Has anyone had this issue and can anything be changed in settings etc to sort this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue.literally every day
Of the 3 days i had it . I returned it to wos.. replaced it for a 322

I thought it was hdmi problem rolled software back..to no avail..

I have same problem. I turn my TV on and the 256 turns itself on then after about a minute it turns off, I have to turn it back on with the remote the TV does not pick up the signal so I have to turn the TV channel over and back again for it to work...;)

I used to have this happen with an old mag 250 but updated it other day and seems fine now may need a new software fix from informir.

I've got a mag 254. If it's left on for a while it goes off then on until u unplug it and plug it back in. I've noticed that when it goes off and on the blue light at front lights differently. It's on the latest firmware as I have checked

Have they replied to you? If/when they do can you let me know what they say. Cheers

I sent a video to w.o.s with the issue of box not turning off. Then in stand by . It would turn itself on..
They replaced the unit
Not collected new 322 from postoffice
As on a weekend break.

On and Off Mag256 Madness, this has driven me crazy I made all the suspect setting changes (hdmi event on/off etc etc) non of them ever stopped my box from turning itself off in the middle of a programme and insult to injury it would knock the tv off with it. The set up was that I'd turn the tv on (via remote) and the box would follow, select hdmi if needed and it would run for a certain length of time (5mins/15mins or whenever) and then turn itself off and the tv with it. Now I power down both the tv and the box at the wall before hitting the sack (with hdmi selected for box), when I come to watch tv the following day I turn both on at the wall, annoyingly the box has to re-load (takes a minute) but I never have any problems with them turning off anymore - Not the best fix but least I know I don't have to get up and start f'kin about again. Hope that helps.

Go into settings then system settings advanced settings and change buffer size(ms) to 500

Mag 250 inner portal Go into settings then system settings advanced settings and change buffer size(ms) to 500 then go into your iptv portal setting advanced settings change buffer to 5
On the mag 256 it’s inner portal buffer 1700 iptv portal buffer 5

Yeah, love Infomir! Mags are extremely temperamental with this. And what's worse is that it seems to be the portal causing some of the damage as when using the Smart IPTV portal (siptv for m3u playlists) a while back, it seemed to control the power differently and was perfectly fine. Making sure CEC/Anynet/Sync Control or whatever is disabled on the TV and event reaction on the box somewhat sorts it, but the power still likes to have a fit. :)
