Mag 254 warning message

If you can roll back the firmware and block updates what's the panic just play it by ear. If worst comes to worst 6 months down the line and they get blocked completely somehow, you have only paid £75 for a box and had premium TV at poundland prices while owning it then you have to get over it, move on, buy a new IPTV device or bite the pillow and pay Sly/VM same every month as what you have paid for almost free tv for months on end.
In this game nothing is going to last forever.

Exactly! lets just enjoy what we have, and if the likes of Sly, the EPL and everyone else who are trying to empty our pockets made it easy it would not be as enjoyable to watch PPV, Champions League, and a whole lot more at a fraction of the cost! Long may it continue, Happy New Year!

Exactly I think people forget sometimes what they are actually watching and how much they have paid for

i have a mag 322 and i cannot access my provider from the inner portal BUT i can access the same forbiden channels through the stalker portal (same provider ) the only difference is that i have convert the stalker portal to different m3u files in the form xxxx user/password xxx workink for month until last week !
do you have the problem on stalker portal or on m3u inner portal ?
i wonder if the inner portal is directed first to a infomir server before in order to test and blacklist some url?
thanks if you can give advice
regards and Happy new year M8

Maybe for most, but there will also be others who are not happy to continue using a product whose manufacturer has openly announced that they are working with non disclosed entities to eradicate piracy from their boxes, regardless of the firmware version without trying to find out more. They are the ones who are always going to be asking more questions about how any block is implemented before making any decision whether to continue using a workaround or just switch to another option.

Talked to a mate out in spain today and he told me that its infomir is blocking the cloned boxes from the mac source codes and not blocking providers as been posted,So only genuine boxes will work after updates,Not up on this but thought it may help.

That's good input and would make sense. Don't know if it's right but it's something to look at.
If anyone has a blocked box they could check on Infomir site and see if it's legit.
I think tho that it's only certain providers that are blocked not the box on all providers, if that makes sense.

Doesn't really explain the copyright message that they posted on their own news page though, stating that they were actively blocking IPTV portals in relation to complaints from EU and US copyright holders against IPTV portals made under the DMCA. They could block the operation of any counterfeit boxes anytime they liked and not even need to give an explanation, yet they are consistently stating that the blocking is down to the copyright complaints made by third parties.

Torrentfreak posted an article containing a bit more information as well as replies from their questions put directly to Infomir in relation to their announcement, and from the answers it does seem that that they are acting in relation to copyright complaints made by third parties, in relation to equests to block individually identified portals. No mention or even a hint of Counterfeit boxes.

Surely if a suppliers portal URL gets blocked by Infomir, all they have to do is assign a new portal URL to customers who simply delete the old one, enter the new one and away you go, or is that just to simple?

Updating a line in Wooshbuild via the usb import takes 10 seconds - 15 if doing it blindfolded, and going by the posts on here even that's too much for 90% of posters, so good luck with the new url lol.

Easy when you know how as they say lol, I've talked many people through it, felt like I was talking to the wall a few times too though!

Looks like someone has come up with a patch to get around the blocks for mag boxes.
The info above is ideally designed to be done as part of the process of compiling a custom firmware. If you want to do it directly on the box then you can access it using an SSH client (such as PuTTY) You connect to the IP of your box using your SSH client with the following details: Login: rootPassword: 930920 Infomir's factory images disable SSH, so if you can't connect then you'll need to flash your box with a firmware from (http://soft.infomir.com/) Browse to the page for your specific model of box, and download the file named "imageupdate" Place that file on a USB stick (which must be formatted as FAT32. MAG254 and earlier can be picky about which sticks they recognise, you may need to try a few - don't use USB3.0 sticks) in a folder named after your box model (eg mag256) and then reboot your box while holding down the menu key on the remote. This will take you into the setup menu Select Upgrade ToolsSelect Upgrade from USBYes That should flash your box with a firmware that allows console access. Once you get in via SSH, run the following commands to do a quick and dirty patch: echo 127.0.0.1 mag256.dcbs.infomir.com >> /etc/hosts rm /mnt/Userfs/data/dls.backup reboot && exit Obviously as in the instructions above, replace mag256 with whatever model of mag you have. This isn't (in my opinion) as good of an option as a custom firmware since it won't auto-purge the cache if it somehow comes back, or block automatic updates (so make sure you disable automatic updates yourself BEFORE you take the box online after flashing it) My hope is that providers will start offering custom firmware to their end users, which will simplify life greatly.

I'm struggling to find somewhere to download an old version of firmware for my Mag349. The current version is blocked, and the only b=version I can download form the Informer website is the blocked version. Could anyone please provide a link to an old firmware / image update version please?

Yes you can. The problem comes when you try to go to the IPTV provider, and you get a warning about copyright infringement. I believe having read a number of threads, its been caused by the latest firmware. Suggestion is to re load an earlier version via USB stick, although finding that version is proving difficult.
