Best IPTV Box Right Now?

Hello all,

Thought we touch base on what we are planning in the next few weeks and what you should consider when comparing side by side to be the best box for 'iptv'. We refer to best box being a device that's designed for IPTV. Knowing the Shield is ranked number 1 for 'Android TV' due to licensing and their Tegra chip which is very powerful but it not really for IPTV its more for gaming and licenced apps such as Netflix and non-licenced apps but if your looking for a great IPTV box then look into a dedicated IPTV box. Although you can sideload apps for IPTV on the shield, those apps are limited on features, design and integration, not forgetting the functions of the remote control for iptv.

Buzztv and Formuler are probably the best to compare to when it comes to IPTV stb with their integrated application.
Buzztv have their app Buzztv5 - Formuler have their app Mol3 (releasing soon).

From what we read and have been told online, the new mol3 is something Buzztv5 already created or had.
Buzztv will also launch a more surprises in 2023 in their Buzztv5.

Next is the quality of Hardware, Specification and Pricing. consider comparing what you get for your money.

RAM is also a feature to consider, It's one of the most important components in determining your system’s performance. RAM, is memory that is available to the system processor when the set-top is booted up and running. RAM is essential to run and execute applications. RAM gives applications a place to store and access data on a short-term basis. It stores the information your box is actively using so that it can be accessed quickly. The more apps your running, the more you’ll need. The speed and performance of your stb correlate to the amount of RAM you have installed. If your system has too little RAM, it can lag and the overall performance of your stb can be noticed.

P.S. any TK beta users that are running Buzztv5 make sure your running the latest firmware and app depending on which model you are using. If your not sure reach out to us.

Couple of points I haven't come across one app I couldn't sideload onto sheild.

If you look at IMPLAYER everybody knows it's pretty much identical to mytvonline but in fairness IMplayer has more features.

And to be fair you can at times get a sheild cheaper than the latest buzz and formuler box. If you like using TV remote you can do that with any box now.

The other problem you have people buy a formuler box or buzz box because they obviously like the app.

Problem is increasing number of suppliers will not give them the DNS.

Then you have other point. TIVIMATE is by far I should imagine the most popular app there lies the question why pay silly prices for a box with built in app.

People don't think before they buy. I have been guilty of this in the past myself.

This is something that you read quite often, that a shield isn't designed for iptv and that's it's overkill. If it was priced much higher than other "dedicated" iptv devices then that'd be quite a valid point imo but it's not. I have a shield and immediately upon switching it on for the first time I removed it's gaming options from the home screen and never gave it a second thought that I could do whatever else it's capable of, leaving it as a dedicated IPTV box in my case - it handles any app iptv app you want to use including the highly rated implayer and tivimate, it runs the proper versions of Netflix etc rather than mobile versions because other manufacturers don't want to pay licencing fees, and can be controlled with your TV remote if you don't like the shield remote.

Imo "overkill" is buying a device at a similar price with much lower specs but has it's own dedicated iptv app, as the formuler and buzz devices do. I've owned a formuler device in the past and the shield is much better in every way. But we're all entitled to our opinion.

Surely glitch free, would be down to provider..
To be fair mate not always provider. But there is alot of this nonsense going around at the moment where resellers can buy a all inclusive panel for £150 a month.

The reseller wacks out the subs at £25 to £35 a year. Trouble is the server owner quickly works out they are making no money as the reseller is adding 200 customers a month.End result is server packs up and starts another evrey 3 to 4 months

You won’t find the actual top dogs on here that’s for sure
Most on here are resellers I should imagine. Although might be one or two server owners. But won't be many.

Trouble is quite a few are selling the same sub.

Resellers may not have a bad service however, the support might be a bit slower. Or they could of course be sub resellers.

I suppose the average price of a good sub is around £60 a year.

Stay away from trials is my advice buy a month and test performance and if there are issues how quickly they are resolved. Good suppliers don't need to give tests.
