Block Firestick upgrades

Sorted the Adguard issue.........

go to dns settings and creat rule - ||amazon.com^

This will stop amazon music and amazon websites from working, so if you use them on your device, just use the above urls listed by Troypoint .

8.1.5.3 is th O.S update that Amazon has set up to block the hack .If this update is now on your firestick you will not be able to use the launcher

I noticed when using the projectivy launcher .When i press the back button Amazon prime use to appear. In projectivy settings there is override setting when switched on stops this happening

You still can preform the exploit on new firestick4kmax or firecube when you get to the part of the setup where you need to connect to wifi, turn on your mobile hotspot or get ready to turn off your router, because when you connect it to wifi, and it says it's checking for updates, quickly turn off your wifi or mobile hotspot to evade updates

Hi,
I've read that new updates on the firestick will soon block some third party apps... IPTV smarters etc might get blocked I understand. I tried blocking updates with unbloat tools but no luck, does anyone know other ways? Thanks ☺️
It depends what software Amazon as updated your device. 7.7.0.4 I managed to use

it managed to block ota updates with launcher manager. Just before it threw the 7.7.0.6 update in. It worked on my Cube 2nd gen. Also on the 4K firestick. No joy with the cube 3rd gen. I could not stop the update.

There's a you tube vid to add urls to your router filter. Not tried it myself.
At the. Moment it lists 3 urls to block.
But if amazon use different ones, they would also need to be added. And by the time you realise, to late 🙄

Anyone who was able to install the exploit

Depends on what type of router you have available

Ya the expliot works well .Tried the expliot on the 4kmax which already had the Amazon patch through updates ,just curious to see what happens. Everything installs until you activate the launcher and try to disable all the updates
not possible

Exactly correct. My 3rd generation was uploading at the time I was trying to stick the launch manager in. Too late. 7
7.0.6 forget it the door was closed

If I had known that ? I would have tried to pop the url in my Netgear RS7000. I have added them now. But it still wants to throw an update on the 3rd gen. So the url in my case are not working.
