Buffering on EE

Macmac99

Newbie
I am using a T95 box at present and have EE broadband.
Ive just upgraded so now have guaranteed download speeds of 59mb and max 71mb. This is the fastest speed I can get in our location.
I am still getting problem with buffering stopping broadcasts.
Any ideas and do you recommend a newer tv box

Does it buffer if you use mobile as a hot spot if soI would try a test from a new supplier.

Can you hot spot it to your phone ? If you can try through your phone if you have no issues your problem may well be with EE. Have you disabled any nanny settings.

If you still have the same issues through your phone as you do EE its looking like your provider.

I'm with EE and have no issues, perhaps try using a vpn if not already tried.

Someone did suggest that the T95 box is taking too much of the download megabits and said get a different one.
When the box is plugged to the ethernet cable but not used the WiFi drops out to our phones.
But is fine most of the time when the box is unplugged

It is to be expected with the return of the league. All major ISPs (Sky, EE, Virgin) are blocking already or testing.

Since most use the default ISP DNS they can easily and quickly flag domains they suspect during high traffic windows like weekends or during UEFA CL midweek.

Since so many people started using a vpn they even started flagging the suspected supplier domains as ad or virus risk as a lot of vpns have virus/ad protection enabled by default leaving to further frustration.

Vpn should solve your issue with any filtering off but I found a few other solutions as well to try first.

For all ISPS

Change the default DNS, would recommend OpenDNS (208.67.222.222), Quad9 (9.9.9.9), Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) or others you can check from here : DNS Speed Test - Find Your Fastest DNS

Would need to check the specific modem/router combination to change the primary and secondary DNS. If it's locked for you then it would have to be per device unfortunately.

For EE :

1) Log in to your EE Account as the primary account holder.

2) Go to your mobile or broadband device settings.

3) Locate Content Lock or Parental Controls.Change the setting to Off and save your changes.

For Virgin :

1) Log in to My Virgin Media - Account Settings -Online Security - Web Safe

2) Toggle both Child Safe and Virus Safe to Off Restart your hub to apply changes.

3) If Web Safe re-enables automatically, contact support or use custom DNS to bypass it.

For Sky

1) Go to the official Sky Help Page for Broadband Shield.Log in using your Sky ID username and password.

2) Navigate to the Broadband Shield settings section.Select Disable Shield or click the Switch Off button to turn off all age ratings and malware/phishing filters

3) Save your settings and reboot router after 10-15 minutes.

Doing this along with a vpn would be best but can these first.
