Couple of noob questions

I want to run IPTV on Kodi on a Windows 10 HTPC. A couple of questions:
1. Is this platform supported by most suppliers?
2. What's to stop the ISP blocking streams (e.g. Sly Prem Lge)?

Is there a particular reason you want to run it on kodi? There are many apps out there that will do the same job.
1. I'm sure there's a m3u using app on kodi if you insist on using it and most suppliers would use m3u for IPTV.
2. There is nothing stopping them if they get a hold of the ip addresses of your stream.

Reason for Kodi is that it seemed like the simplest option if I wanted to use multi room/multi device (I already have it installed on all of the devices that I want to watch on). It also works nicely with a MCE remote on my HTPC for the full armchair experience. I didn't know VLC player was an option - do you just enter a stream address?

So is a VPN generally recommended for all of these services, to get around ISP blocking issues?

Vpn is better mate makes it harder for isp to exactly point where you are it is strongly recommended by people to use vpn with kodi as to not using a vpn where it points exactly where you are

Doubt the ISPs are going to target individual users. They will go for the servers with a ddos attack or such like which is most likely what happened last night given everything returned to normal as soon as the football was finished.

Theyve all teamed up the premier league just won high court case for isp to be blocked

Not disputing that they are behind it but using a VPN won't make any difference as it's not your side they are attacking

Time will come when ISP will be forced to block traffic so I would say set up VPN earlier rather than later.

All ISP dont wont the extra workload but the courts may force it when cases are brought before them. Hence why IP logging is now mandatory from them with traffic
