Remove it.
Reboot the box and then plug it back in and try initialisation again

Your epg is probably set to save to hdd which is why it is saying resource busy. Change epg to save to internal flash and then it will let you initialise your usb hdd. Then just change epg back to save to hdd.

After you have initialised your usb hdd you just change the epg path back to hdd. Try restarting your box

MENU > SETUP > VIX > MOUNT MANAGER

Logs are also being written to /media/hdd/ as well as epg.

It's already initialised then.

Initialise = Format

The EPG system will use a fat32 device too. So this initialise/format issue is not really relevant in my opinion. The crucial thing is whether the device is mounted or not at boot up. The OP has been raising EPG related issues for a while. Something is going on and not being mentioned. Maybe the USB stick is on its way out. Really need screenshots (not out of focus pictures) of all the EPG settings in image. Description of all EPG acquisition methods and settings being used.

Edit:
To avoid mount point issues, always best to put receiver into deep standby mode, then connect the storage device.
