For anyone interested, Optus Sports have a 3 month deal of 50AUD, so works out around £27, so £9 a month........I have a few dormant private accounts if anyone wants to activate them, just drop me a DM

Sooka Malaysia is a very good alternative if you happen to sub to mysterium vpn it can be purchased directly from a UK iTunes account for £9.99 a month, for this you get three concurrent streams. Can be installed on android TV, iOS, android and played on a computer its 1080p 50 fps English Commentary too

I actually think Optus Sport is about equal in quality to Peacock. It is definitely better quality than the live streams on SkySportNow NZ (replays are fine, just not live). I was on SSN last season, but moving back to Optus again because of the live stream quality and the A$50/quarter deal

I use Getflix DNS (via ControlD) and it works perfectly from Singapore. Have used Getflix VPN from Europe as well, and that has also worked well - perhaps with the occasional drop in stream quality.

Both Optus and Sky Sports NZ are FHD 50FPS
I have an Amazon 4k max firestick, unable to download Optus sports, can you tell exactly what to put in downloader. Many thanks, or is it more complicated than that!!!

You should get a button to transfer
Once you've done that you should be able to access Australia app store
Then repeat to revert it back to the country of choice

Agree - but there’s a clear difference when you look at them side by side. If you look closely at the pitch on the SSN streams the grass is all pixelated and the lines are blurry. This is only the case for the live streams - the replays are perfectly sharp. Not sure what they’re doing, whether it’s upscaled or what, but it’s very noticeable when I watch.

They are both 1080 50fps and they are great streams however as you say 2 50fps streams can also be told apart by the mbps they output at ...the higher the better eg BT 4k is at 27mpbs ..amazon 1080 was at 12mbps and was a class streams in comparison ..optus and sky nz output at 7 or 8 mbps ..

Interestingly I compared the bitrates a while back and SSN was actually marginally higher than Optus. Something like 8 mbps vs 7 mbps or something like that. Basically on par with Peacock had the frame rate been the same.
However that was on the same PL Stories video or something like that - not on live content, so maybe I’ll have to rerun that experiment again.

Unfortunately there’s no live game on right now for me to compare, but I checked on a different live sport event and that was indeed 8mbps. Beats me what they’re doing - the closeups always look nice and sharp, but the wide shots are not…

Yeah I have noticed streams on Optus appear to be much more vivid and brighter, similar to Peacock, unsure if thats just my old eyes though....lol

They are definitely sharper. The quality is definitely below what the bitrate would suggest. Maybe it’s because they’re linear TV channels and it’s an upscaling or conversion thing…

I owuld imagine they are clser than iptv as that still needs put thru a server, that causes delays etc, but have not used iptv in many years so cannot say 100%
