CELTIC 1 - 1 HEARTS
Chris Killen

Final score 2-1 to the Hoops a hard fought well deserved victory, we are in dire need of a striker. The possesion today was unbeliveable and but for poor finishing we could have had a much easier win. Defense is woeful and if Caldwell gets his pay rise, my season book will wing its way back to Celtic park.

One plus from today was Nial McGinn, the young Irishman pinched for buttons off Derry City looks to have a lot of potential and for me changed the game today when he came on as sub. It was hard going but games against Hearts normally are so three points against them is a bonus plus we have now opened a small gap at the top of the league.

well, it is early doors as they are liable to say on the best tv programs, though i dont get the saying. so the hoops didnt balls it up, well done to the Celtic Football Club

Left it late again it doesnt look very good we won't last 2 seconds down south I think we would struggle in the coca cola just now :whistling:

Watched the game online & wasnt impressed :(

Caldwell was captain (again)........... WTF???

Zheng to complete Celtic switch

China captain Zheng Zhi has arrived in Scotland and will complete his move to Celtic on Friday.

The 29-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, left English League One side Charlton when his contract expired in June.

He was granted a work permit earlier this month but will not play in Celtic's Europa League group games as he failed to make the signing deadline.

Zheng decided to leave Charlton because he did not want to play in League One.

He became the first Chinese player to represent the Addicks when he played 12 games on loan for the club in the Premier League in 2006/07.

After signing a permanent deal from Shandong Luneng for an initial £1.25m, he scored nine goals in Charlton's first campaign in the Championship.

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray will likely aim to utilise Zheng as defensive cover after Darren O'Dea joined Reading on loan.

He also gives the option of cover in midfield for Massimo Donati, who moved permanently to Bari in the summer transfer window.
