Guide How to set up an E2 combo box with vix image

Yeah i'd say thats a great idea, at least ur gonna be goin back to basics, it really is as simple as stated above... let us know how you get on

if using a nline 2 files are needed in var/keys=usr/keys
mg_cfg
newcamd.list is where your adjusted nline is entered saved and exit.
dont forget box may need a reboot also.

Used this guide on a Zegemma H1 box, cable and sat running as desired,(y) however I need to rearrange the auto bouquet menu to my liking ie group channels from the cable side and sat side to display under categories of my choice. Instead of listing "all channels" twice have just one, or do away with it and create custom category's. Ideas please. Thanks.:peace:

Reflashing my box and still n line won't work. Do I have to put in 01 02 03 04....etc or is that where I put my desk key. I've tried both still doesn't wor cline works fine in cccam but can't get nline working in mg cam.

good work it really worked

This is a bit of a lengthy process so I will try and
make it easy to follow.

Power up the box, it will put you in the start up wizard.

Select HDMI, 1080p, and 50Hz (use the settings suited to your TV)

Select the language as English

Set the visibility to about 200, then use the options to size the menu to the TV screen

Set the menu inside the four corner markings.

Using the wizard check the internet connection, it should say it's working and display
your IP address (make a note of your IP you will need it later)

Now configure the tuners, Tuner A on this box is sat.

Set the satellite to Astra 28.2

Tuner B is cable

Type in your net id, put yes against all the QAM settings, Scan additional SR, at the bottom of the list type in your symbol rate

Keep clicking OK and let it set up your network interface.

You should insert a pen drive to store your EPG on, if the internal flash memory gets full
it can brick the box.

Menu - Setup - System - EPG - Settings

Change the EPG Location from internal flash to media/hdd

(If it won't switch to media/hdd straight away, put the pen in and reboot the box, some are picked up others need the reboot to be seen )

Set Enable VM EPG to yes

View attachment 12432

In the EPG menu

Go into Multi EPG settings and press OK

Go into Cross EPG - Configure and change the scheduled download to once a day

View attachment 12434

Menu - Setup - Service Searching - Auto Bouquet Maker - Configure

Change Scheduled Scan to yes

View attachment 12436

In the Auto Bouquet Maker Menu pick Providers

Select Sky UK as yes then select your area, Select Virgin UK as yes and select your area (your net id's should match)

View attachment 12437

In the Auto Bouquet Maker Menu pick Providers Order

The one you set at the top will be the first set of groups when looking in FAVS, the second with be further down the list

Scan for channels

You should now have a nice neat channel list for cable and sat channels

Download CCcam and MG Cam.

Download the attached files at the bottom of this guide, unzip, double click on the newcamd.list file

Change the front of your N Line or lines so it reads CWS =

Paste your line over the example lines in the file so it looks similar. Save.

The left hand boxes are your computer, the right hand boxes are your box.

On the left browse to the files you have downloaded.

On your right browse to usr/keys

Click on one of the files on the left, right click your mouse and select upload.

Do the same with the other file, the two bottom windows should look the same.

Menu - Setup - Softcam / CI - Softcam Manager

Green Button - Start

Blue Button - Enable Start Up

Most cable servers supply N lines so I haven't included using CCcam
thanks man!!

hi guys here my problem, im currently set up using the sky side on a z gemma h1 with CCcam, but want to set the cable side but the problem i have is its a N line for cable so will i have to
deactivate the CCcam and activate the MGcamd to watch the cable side? cheers guys

If you have a C line and a N line put them both in the ect folder and run CCcam

"Do the same with the other file" this refers to the mg_cfg file, so yes both files go int the usr/keys folder

Bees ive finally got mine set up today and love it but have noticed the epg goes off the side of the screen, is there a way to fix this? Cheers pal

It is usually 6952 or 6887

Bristol TW 40970 651.000 6.952
Bromley NTL/ex C&W 41041 666.750 6.887

Example

Net Id / 40970
Frequency / 651.000
Symbol Rate / 6.952 (in gigs so becomes 6952 in megs when you put it in your box.)

Is my net id my email address

See post #67 in this thread here

hi bees i am confused in the example Bristol TW 40970 651.000 6.952 you have said net id is 40970 and symb0l rate 6952. In you OP however you have put net id 6952 (which you say here is symbol rate) and in autobouquet 41016(which is equivalent to 40970 ) have you just got it wrong in this quote...

That info was taken from the net id list posted by cactikid.

It will have been current at the time of the post, most of it will still work.

If you are using Autoboquet Maker with the Vix image I would suggest it is probably more up to date than the original post
(Net id's move, like sat channel frequencies move, but not as often)

So I would try using 41016 in tuner config and Autobouquet maker.

Menu - Setup - System - User Interface - Position Setup

Set visibility to about 200 then adjust the screen size to suit your TV

So where does the symbol rate go and where does the net id go?
