Guide How to set up an E2 combo box with vix image

Have you been able to FTP your line to oyur box, then start your CCam or Mgcam, then restart your box?? Is your ethernet cable connected properly? Broadband working okay?

Yes everything is working OK apart from picture. Thanks for the things to look out for, anyway.
Will try again tomorrow. Need a break.

Hi I'm thinking of getting a zgemma hsh combo version. I see from their site that they have an open vix image that I could use. So how would I get it on to a new box? I read about flashing using usb stick etc. Then once the vix image is on, are the instruction the same as described.
The section about the cams, I assume this is a plugin, so I could have different types of cams i.e. one for N line and one for C line.
The Mgcamd 1.35a, is this available via plugin? or does it need to be installed via usb?
I'm trying to do this myself rather than fork out hundreds of pounds, or which stable budget box do you recommend

Hi there again got the box all set up just need to install lines i see in the tutorial there are 2 lines tv and vm is this because its dual tuner one line vm one sky as my box is single tuner and on cable only should i only have my one line in that box

Cheers Spans

Good evening. Just trying to set my new box up and falling at the first hurdle. I can't find my network ID, frequency or symbol rate on my VM box. It's a TiVo box, if that makes any difference. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can i use my external hdd for recording & epg or do i need a usb memory stick for the epg. Im using a miraclebox premium + hybrid.
Thanks .

as the box has 2 usb ports i would use a usb flash drive setup for epg.its handier if you have to reformat usb stick if epg gets corrupted.use externally powered usb hdd for recordings.

yes the tut was for a combo using both, but if you only need cable you only need to use a cable line.

cant remember on the vm box but found this.

- on your V+ unlike the TiVO it does not show you the settings
- on your V+ do this ......................

- switch off on the back
- holding the up & down buttons [on the front (left-right-up-down)] firmly down
- switch the box on at the back
- count about 15 seconds and let go of the up & down buttons
- let the box boot into the 26 page engineers menu
- you want page 8b if I remember correctly

Cheers for the quick response. However, that's for the v+ box, not the TiVo. Also, I'm not sure what area I am (guessing South Herts, but don't know for sure).

After a couple of goes pressing up+down does get into the engineers menu on a TiVo, awesome, thanks! Just need to figure out how to install autobouqets on openmb now (if I can't I'll start another thread, don't want to hijack this one any further). Thanks again.

Sounds like a tuner problem rather than anything you are doing wrong.

I would put your sat tuner to "not configured" it will be quicker to scan.

If it's a hybrid tuner try setting it to DVB -T and scanning off an Ariel.

If you pick up channels, you will then need to check if you cable feed in is still live

Are they just plug and play or did you need to download a plugin to the box for it to see the tuner ?

So from what I gather, basically you can configure the tuner using Openvix, so the box is seeing it.

But it 's not picking up terrestrial channels when scanning on the VU box ?

And the Ariel deffo works if you just plug it into the back of the TV and scan ?

(I am asking about terrestrial, as it rules out other problems such as live cable feeds, net id problems etc)

Beginning to sound like a dodgy tuner

Also when scanning on cable you set your provider to VM, did you also set the area to match your net id in tuner configuration ?
