hI,
NOT SURE WHERE OR IF THIS SHOULD BE POSTED SO PLEASE REMOVE /REPASTE IN RIGHT CATAGORY

Iv'e been given a zgemma h2s box that has been stuck in boot mode so ive tried various builds/images but what do you all recommend?
also there is no subs on it anymore is this box now useless or is there away i can add tv channels
either through a new sub or iptv
whats the best way to go

any help much appreciated

what services do you have coming into your house?

you can get some channels thru a dish or a complete package thru a VM cable
 
If you don't have a V*rgin Media (old or current) box in your home, you're limited i'm afraid - you can get iptv but it's very hit and miss.

To sort your box out, i'd suggest a blank version of the firmware > http://www.zgemma.tv

k thanks i dont have a VM box and i have previously downloaded and added 2 different flashes to the box today but dont know which is the best one for this type of box
 
I wouldn't worry about your base image as long as your box is booting.

Start looking at IPAB or the XC plugin to get IPTV running.

Then once that's working, sort out a decent EPG to go with it, then tit about with other things if you still feel the urge to :D:D:D
 
if the box isn't flashing, what usb stick are you using? it should be a small usb stick and formatted fat32

So you got the box because someone thought it was dead....you got it working by flashing with a backup image & your wondering which image is best to use?

Any of the many H2s images will work so its personal choice...ipad & WB are the most popular but there are others in the download section, the H2s will give fta from your sat feed/'s but you need to add IPTV subscription service to get other channels

This will not happen again, I will delete if youncant be bothered to find the zgemma section..... there is no way that it belongs in a diy section.
The only reason I am moving it is that several people bothered to reply to you.
Moved to H2S section.

its not that icant be bothered i only joined today and stated at the start of my post i didnt know where to post this and could be moved or deleted.....
 
If you found the diy section, you could have scrolled down the page a little further, you would have found general satellite, zgemma, then zgemma by box section.

In general, go to TechKings.org then scroll down and you'll see all the different sections. As I said, I would normally just delete, it was only because there were several replies to you.

After joining i went strait to the new members section and said THANKS FOR THE ADD (i didnt have to do that but its only polite too)

then jumped straight into the forums section where i found diy help and advice section AND LOW AND BEHOLD I NEEDED SOME HELP AND ADVICE not on diy or how to hot wire a car or boil a bloody egg
but what image was best to flash to a box.................
 
As said, DIY Help & Advice is just for that - if you need help with and home improvements then this is the section to be but if not, there's many other sections on TK where you can post your questions and you may find that your questions have already been answered which would be a bonus :)

If you take some time to get to know the layout of the site and what section is for what then you'll be fine going forward :👍:

hi guys, ive got the same problem. i tried to install a new version of openvix on my h2s box, and it got stuck in boot. ive been on the link above, formated and copied the file onto my 4gb stick, then plugged it into the back and turned the box back on. its still stuck on boot. can anyone help please? im not very technical , so i will need an idiots guide please. lol. cheers. wayne.

If it doesn't come up FL5H on the front, it's not recognised the usb drive - try it in both front and back ports, also make sure you have changed the noforce file to force.

Hi. Yes I've tried 2 different usb sticks, and there was a force file in there. It still says boot on the box and doesn't change.
