Hi,

Just recieved my zgemma h2s and it trys to boot with count up then goes from 50 to 99 a couple of times then just sits on -00- and wont respond. Open ATV displays on tv but cant do anything!

doesnt respond to any button presses , if i just leave box then every so often i see it do the count loop from 50 to 99 then stay on -00- again.

I think what im going to do is try and flash it with wooshbuild. From my experance with F5and F3 boxes im thinking its a firmware issue as its stuck in a boot loop. Ill report back if this works...."crosses fingers"

Yes mate you are probably right with it being a FW issue.
Whoosh build is the easiest build as you don't have to ftp your line over.
Good luck a day let us no

I have a H2S box that I have used for a year, the box is now stuck on the boot screen and will not go past boot, is it best to try and re-flash?

I had the same issue on my box yesterday as the op did and I had wooshbuild 4.001 installed, when I telneted to my box I found my settings file was blank so I manually via telnet restored my latest settings backup, and the box booted up as normal when I restarted it.

It's not an option for everyone but if you know your way around the box/linux it saves having to reflash.

I still don't know what caused the problem

Have tried scumnsce and whooshbuild and still no luck, I have left the box off for a few hours as was out for lunch, and the same thing happens. Boot appears on the display and the screen with has the Linux penguin.

Tried 2no USB's and reformatted USB sticks on Fat32 both times.

Any other suggestions?

If there is no FLSH appearing on the screen either the usb has not been prepared properly or you're trying to flash the wrong image.
Delete the existing USB partition and create a new Fat32 primary partition. It should work. There are some links in my sig that may help.

try using this to format the usb View attachment smdk_fat322.zip no need to do a windows format place the zgemma folder on usb power off the box using the back power button place usb in th back usb port power on using the back power button box should change from usb to flash

Hi guys,
in the same boat here, i'm a noob when it comes to these boxes and looking for advice.
At the end of September '16 I bought a Zgemma H2S all fully loaded, 'Plug & Play' etc. It was working perfectly until a couple of weeks ago when it suddenly got stuck on a boot loop. The numbers on the LCD panel when initially loading goes from 0 to 56, then back to 0 and it just does that over and over.
When I bought the box, it was supposed to have a 24 month warranty on it but 6 months later and i'm not getting a response from the seller, despite numerous attempts to contact him, so I think i'm going to have to bite the bullet and try to sort the problem on my own.
I'd very much appreciate if anyone can give me a quick guide on how to get it back up and running, any links to downloads i'd need etc, as i'm pulling my hair out going without tv and don't really know where to start.
I don't have a copy of the line on my laptop or anywhere else because as I said, the box came as 'Plug & Play' and I doubt I could get another one from the seller as he isn't responding to me. Is there any way to salvage it as it did work great without any glitching?
Thanks in advance for any of your help and advice. Cheers

Going to state the obvious but the box will need reflashing which isn't to difficult if you have a spare USB stick, it just depends what you want to put on it.

I don't know at what point the the box's network kicks in but you could try accessiing it via windows explorer/file explorer and grabbing the newcamd.list file of the box but it's location depends on what build you had installed, it might be easier just getting another line. There are a couple of stick threads in the h2s forum about different backups that you can install or if you want I can send you a link to the backup of my boxes which is basically wooshbuild and some simple instructions via pm.

Thanks for the reply and advice mate.
Must have been a coincidence but around an hour after I posted, the seller actually replied to me (after weeks of waiting!). Still a bit pissed as the box was supposed to have a guarantee but he asked for money to fix it. Considering that I would most likely have had to buy a new line etc if I tried to fix it myself, and I just want the box fixed, just thought better of it and paid the £ and sent it back to him.
As soon as I get it back though, i'll be sure to back it up in case this happens again.
Cheers for your reply anyway mate

To be honest nine times out of 10 the box isn't faulty but just needs reflashing, this happens for various reasons, user tries updating something and it's corrupted something, box turned off at power without being shut down first, which 9 times out of 10 does no damage but can corrupt something, usb stick got corrupt - pulled out at wrong time and so on.
