Hisense TV HDMI issue

Hi everyone. I have just purchased a Hisense TV and my Thomson 270 and Nvidia Shield will not connect through the HDMI ports on the tv. The only thing that does is my Apple TV. Has anyone come across this problem?

I am guessing you have tried both devices on the same port with the same HDMI cable as your Apple TV?

First check if there is a software update on the TV and also try changing HDMI Input Mode it from "Enhanced" to "Standard" (or vice versa). If that fails factory reset the TV and try again.

Up to date on software, HDMI input has been changed to standard, looks like a factory reset.

This is only thing I have found

  • HDMI Recognition: Some Hisense TVs may not recognize the Nvidia Shield TV when connected via HDMI. This can happen due to compatibility issues with HDMI switches or the TV's firmware.
  • Power Supply: The Nvidia Shield TV requires a certain power level through the HDMI cable. If the cable or switch does not meet this requirement, the Shield may not be detected.

Advanced Solutions
  • Adjust HDMI Settings on the TV: Hisense TVs have specific settings that can cause compatibility issues.
    • Enable HDMI Enhanced Format/UHD Color: For 4K/HDR content, this setting needs to be enabled for the specific HDMI port the Shield is connected to. Navigate to the TV's Settings > Picture > HDMI Settings or similar menu to find and enable this.
    • Disable HDMI-CEC: Sometimes the HDMI-CEC feature (Consumer Electronics Control, which allows devices to control each other) can cause communication problems. Try disabling it in Settings > System > HDMI-CEC on your TV, and in the Shield's settings under Settings > Device preferences > Display & Sound > Power Control.
  • Force a Lower Resolution on the Nvidia Shield: The Shield might be trying to output a resolution the TV can't support on that specific port. If you have access to another, working TV or monitor, connect the Shield to it and lower the resolution in its display settings. Alternatively, you can boot the Shield into Safe Mode to change the video output to a lower resolution like 1080p, then reconnect it to the Hisense TV.

One thing I've noticed with mine is, after i reboot a device, it doesn't come back on until i pull the lead abd put it back in??
As mentioned, try turning off CEC control in Settings, that has caused me problems in the past. :)

Thanks for all your help guys, turning CEC off devices and TV seems to have done the trick. 👍
I've never got hdmi cec to work on any device i have ever owned.
I'm convinced it is a sick joke inflicted on the public by device manufacturers.
I once bought three different tellies in the space of a year in an effort to make it happen.
It didn't.
