Hi all

IPTV is a new venture for me, just wonering what you experts would suggest as goes....

1) Price
2) What to look for in a good provider/package -

Thanks

You'll get a lot of different opinions on this...

Price wise, depends how long you're willing to pay for up front... You can pay anything from £5 to £25 for a month at a time sub. For 12 months up front, it an range from £25 to £125... People suggest that you pay for what you get, which is true to a certain degree. I would definitely not pay more than £65 for a 12 month sub. But then I've seen cement subs go for a little as £30 (that is a sale price).

In terms of what to look for. Others say go direct to supplier... However, you'll find that there are very little who actually get involved with selling direct to customers, and that the actual supplier is more involved in the running of the system.

You want someone who is in direct contact with the supplier, who has an input on things (so they can issue problem reports to supplier). You want someone who is knowledgeable, and can offer support on a whole variety of questions you might have...

You want someone who provides their service without VPN requirement, as this means they understand and can work against blocks. Plus, adds to the safety of their service...

Hi

Thanks for the info.

Any ideas about for a non fixed IP, as I work away a lot, so would be using a laptop with vpn. Anybody do something like this rather than a fixed home ip??

Most suppliers will allow for you to use abroad just a case of finding one if you request 9n here check people's profiles see how long they've been a member and how they contribute zero posters I would avoid ask questions see if support groups what contact they have with supplier ect

I am paying £60/annum for IPT but am wondering if I could get something more suited to my needs. It was /is easy to install via Xtream TV (no mu3) I haven't used it much but when I do I have found it to be staple but am told it needs a vpn when football is on. What i do find a pain is a very limited range of +1 channels and a very clunky programme guide. Not being able to watch when football is on could be a problems at some time, I dont watch football but if ther service is down ...Quality on full HD is reasonable the others so so, not as good as freeview/freesat. VOD on demand is extensive but mostly american tv shows and non prime or older movies.

areas I would like to improve are:

- get all the +1 channels that appear for example of sat TV?
- sky type EPG with easy set up
- current release movies
- offer high quality sd and 1080
- weekend access, increasingly looks like the VPN will be needed when football is on (service down)

is this possible?, any other nice to have options?

Yes possible xtreamtv is shite you can use jedi if your provider will change your sub for you some won't some may and select what bouquets to install some providers have vod requests some services don't need vpn for football a few offer alot of +1 channels and various shows and movies from UK to usa just a case of finding a decentt provider

Me personally i have 2 suppliers.
One is 100% local as i seen for my own eyes and he gave me a great insight into how it works. Its expensive and never ever experienced blocks due not advertising all over the place.
Cost £75 a year.
Other was the biggest supplier not to long ago, 99% of people think they shut down. But thats not case, only limited people know how to contact them and payment is bitcoin.
Cost £60 a year.

My opinion is there the two best suppliers out there. Reason being..... they dont advertise all over the place and are completely off the radar.
If i was not in that position i would go for a supplier that has its own website with ticket service and generators. Social media and fle-bay are the worst places to buy from.
(although you might get lucky)

Prices should range from £50-£80 for a year. Lines for £20-£30 a year would ring alarm bells for me.
Also if provider cant issue one or three months is a NO NO.
The world is your oyster nowadays, everyone is jumping on the bandwagon for a few pound being resellers now. Some of them dont even know how to setup enigma2 devices.
Get a test.
Get from proper source.
Stay away from FB and fle-bay.
Take no more than 3 months to start.
Prices around £50-£80.

I work away a lot, I have cable/eurosat at home, and use IPTV on a laptop when away, I have no problems, I assume my supplier uses the Mac address, but have never had any issues so have never needed to ask or contact them, it just works, brilliantly.

Not sure if there is a thread - but would be really helpful if a thread can be created which consists of feedback from members on the suppliers they are using.
Or a top tier 1, top tier 2 thread mad of lists of reliable suppliers. This ensures reliability and avoids floodgates of threads like this one.

I think you would have more chance of having lunch with the queen👍

Suppliers prices range hugely the average is £65.00 i know 2 excellent suppliers one £65.00 and one £75.00 for the year. however, you will pay more if you pay by the month and 3 months etc.

As regards to VPN not many suppliers require you to use a VPN however, it is good practice. If you miss half of a football match or PPV event you cannot moan.

Thinking I might ditch the whole idea and stick with freesat, makes 90% of my viewing or get a freeview box

Take tests

Buy off people with reputations to uphold. So people with a decent post count or presence here.

Don't be afraid of resellers. Everyone is really reselling. When people talk of providers they mean the people renting streams of the true provides who sell in bulk and will never deal with single members of the public.

But resellers are often incentiviced to help you get set up and source good services. Some of the best packages I've had have been from resellers. As long as they have reputations to uphold they will usually offer good service
