Windows can't format the drive as it will be ext4 format. You can delete the partitions from disk manager I think in WinXP.

However there shouldn't be any need to format the drive, if you reflash the box it will recreate the swap file that is already there.
 
Hey guys installed the image and have almost everything working, except the pay channels. Is this an issue with line? when i select the channel i.e. sky one the beckground image just stays put with the usual tvguide box for that channel. but the channel doesnt load. however freeview channels come up right away (although sometimes lacking sound) anyone any idea of a fix? i'm going round in circles trying to get it to work.
 
I suspect it will be the line not being entered correctly, line type & location are always a hot topic, recheck your line type (C or N line) then check location (newcamd.list file in usr/keys or CCcam.cfg in /etc) Dont forget to restart cam when you've finished editing your line in
 
my provider sent two files for the line a newcam and an mg_cfg will having both on affect it? or should both be entered?
 
If u were sent a pair of files mentioned i woul overwrite mine with them as they will work as a pair properly, having been supplied by your provider.
Most only get newcamd.list which is why i say edit the newcamd.list in my image. That way u know they work as a pair
 
hi can anyone help trying to sort epg out tells me to go from epg to cross epg and download but there is no cross epg only multi or single epg settings is it one of those 2 i select
 
crossEPG should be further down the list... menu/setup/system/EPG/crossEPG...(use down arrow to scroll down the list to crossEPG) then download now

cheers for that beakyford found it just stuck on the ccline transfer now through dreambox control seemed to have done every thing right just cant find the sly channels.
 
have you restarted the cam after entering your line? If so then Id suspect the line has not been entered correctly or its in the wrong location (user/keys or ect depending on the type of line)

does Autobouquets maker auto scan for channel frequency changes daily or is this a manual thing to do periodically ?
 
hi,beakyford, tried to put my ccline on to my zgemma star 2s box via dreambox control followed instruction i think? it told me to highlight the cccam
.cfg in the left hand box and in the right hand box highlite the cccam where it was stored on my computer but i couldn't find it anywhere it should of been in my documents folder but was,nt there so tried to copy again off my usb stick but its gone from there so do i have to buy another line, cheers dave
 
lines can be confusing for most people as there are differences between line type & where they go so best to be sure of the line type you have before going any further, however from the info you have given (CCcam.cfg) Im going to assume your line should be the etc folder. Open DCC (left window is zgemma, right window is pc) locate your CCcam.cfg in the right window/pc then in the left window/zgemma open the etc folder, now highlight & send your CCcam.cfg from right window into the now open etc folder using the transfer arrows in the middle of the two windows. Once done you will need to go to softcam via remote & stop MGcand/remove tick, then start CCcam/add tick, restart the cam & see if channels clear.

if you have removed or lost your line you will need to contact your line provider & ask to resend

For any newbie like myself that is struggling with a ccline it took me ages to find out I had to go menu-setup-softcam/Ci-softcam manager and then disable mgcamd and enable ccam. Might save someone else spending 40 minutes putting the ccam file everywhere :)
 
it can be confusing at 1st with lines available in different formats going in different locations, which cam to use & the line location are determined by the line format your provider has sent to you. The line must be edited correctly into the right location & the correct cam selected then restarted to clear subscription channels. It may be as clear as mud but post #494 does state stop MGcamd & start CCcam to see if channels clear

Newbie here.


I am trying to carry this out at the moment. Heard good stuff about the stuff available here.

ANy good hints or tips when carrying this out? Pretty new at all of this to be fair so all tips will be welcomed

Downloading sucmnsee image that everyone keeps talking about.... Is that the downlad picture that appears on this post? Is it right enough it will only download through google chrome?

gone through details on the idiots guide but when it comes to sorting the epg I go to epg location so to change from internal drive to my usb lexor 8gb. and it wont let me change it ive formatted the usb to NTFS but no luck any help PLEASE.
 
not all usb drives are compatible but best thing to do would be to start over, format the usb with windows (not quick format) & then repeat the hard drive setup from the guide
 
Hello ive done the idiots guide and done my channel scan which found all the channels and got epg sorted but when i try to go to sky channels it just wont let me hellllllllllllp please.
