IPTV with basic broadband

Has anyone ran IPTV with a basic 8-16mb broadband line? I’m supposed to be having a FTTP gig like installed but it’s been moved back to February. Looking at taking out a sub but worried won’t work particularly well.

What is your current download speed anything over 10 mg will be fine as long as only that is being used.

Also you could take a one month sub to try it.

Trials went okay to be fair. Internet handles the kids’ Disney Plus (as long as nothing else is running) too but can’t handle much else.

I’m with Sky. Varies between 10 and 15 usually, but can be temperamental at peak times

Probably better to take 3m which will take you to February.
I used to run IPTV on a 15mb connection with no trouble, just stick to SD or HD where possible, don't be trying UHD/4K streams

You can run iptv on those speeds will definitely struggle with 4k content and 4k vod but hd should be fine and you can deffinatly view sd channels on those speeds

If it's h265 that can run on slower speeds. But a full 1080p h264 stream and or 4k may most likely struggle

My sub worked fine on 13mb speeds up to HD vast majority of the time. At peak times speed could drop as low as 5mb but would generally be ok and that was with talktalk who are not the best provider in the world.
