Just purchased the NOW TV Dongle

Is there anyway this device and be modified to play subbed 3rd party tv/cable packages?

Basically can i image this hardware for a paid all in one service? Or is this device pretty locked down?

You would have been better getting a firestick and getting iptv for price you will pay each month for now tv passes

As an IPTV device, its pretty much a doorstop unfortunately.
