Have you tried a ordinary scan on cable, might take 20 mins, but its just to see if any if those channels work afterwards, as you really should be getting some working regional channels.

done a complete scan still no bbc 1 or 2 or itv hd all got good signal though nothing on red button either

My itv hds can take 40 secs to a minute to clear sometimes, but you definately should have at least one bbc1 hd working.

Left it on for over an hour and nothing every thing else is good all channels good and tale hardly any time to clear.

I’ve had this on discovery HD channel I just moved the cable at the back/ basically fiddled with the back and it came on! Not saying it will work for you but worth a try

Also tried every other htv on the down and red button and none worked so if anyone can help i would be grateful

Not much left to try other than replacing cables and splitter to modem and box

All the cables check out to be honest have had a few issues and virgin have checked all the cables and they come back ok its a new splitter and when i change the splitters it doesent seem to make any difference

Could someone explain a bit how the cables/splitters would cause the 3 local channels and there equivilant channels not to work and why a few other people are having the same issue when all the other channels are absolutley fine

Splitters and bad cables cause allsorts of weird interference issues with the signal levels etc if possible try changing round the modem cable and box cable.

changed them around signal stayed at 91% on bbc

Thought id check my power levels the only thing i can see are that 1 2 and 3 are positive on the power but the rest are minus dont know if that makes a difference

Yeah power levels look pretty much ok etc cant really think of much else you can try to be honest

Seems it may be because my line may not be local to me down in south wales as i have now done lots of reading and my issues may be that my line is in fact miles from me but i would have thaought one of them would work in the down arrow and then red button

Yeah usually you can get an alternative to work this way etc

The line and where it came from has no effect, the channels are in the vm wire coming in your house, the line is an unlock code, it can't unlock them because it doesn't recognise them, no lines will recognise them as you have already found out
