Funny how garry_virgin just joined on the 17th Nov and no one from the SV crew have been unable to post. Could it be true or could it be the SV crew why would they do this

Hi there iv been watching these threads and i thought its about time i put in my penny :-).

Over the last few months its been me that has been keeping the starview website offline. Why? because i was asked to by someone concerned that after getting wind that main guys where going to run with money that people would continue to be ripped off. It appears that my last hit knocked off php-fpm or whatever other php daemon they where running.... this has caused a security issue.


From one of there configs im sure alot of you have already noticed this yourself. The last server move they done was in fact to try and prevent the attacks. They moved there hosting to godaddy cloud = fail

They used to be hosted on kimsufi/ovh but i think they a. didn't know how to defend attacks as real admin and b. could no longer afford the cost of running dedicated server.
Anyhow the point is i wont allow any starview resurrection that enables them to further rip off community. Im not sure if any of you remember from other forums but im sure someone can vouch for my rep.

ok robin hood... So your the reason there was no updates on the sv website for people that needed to know. Did you expect a thx for this?

Im not robin hood more like robin ba**ard. And no i expect no thanks for this at all. You say you would have gotten updates i say you would have got strung along further and lost even more money.

The main guy has done runner with all cash some other team member setting up new paypal wont fix that. Like i said they can setup whatever they want it will come back down again ;p

as for your question why didnt i warn people ? well you have a point but if people are struggling to listen now what makes you think people where prepared to listen before there was trouble?

Well i know for fact that virgin have had nothing to do with closing of website. As for the servers I believe that they closed because there was no money to pay to keep them running. I dont belive that they got sized at all but they got closed by hosts for lack of payment.

This isn't some seizure issue its internal problem with 1 team member doing runner with cash. Now of course vultures circle....

I cant tell you that guy claiming to be from vermin is telling lies but his story doesnt fit senario. Its possible that vermin could be sniffing around dead corpse tho.....

If you where working for virgin would you think its great idea to post on cable/sat hack forum pre warning people? smells a little to me

Whether any of that is true or not it certainly makes more sense that the usual drivel we've been getting.

If you're genuine AzzA, well done for coming forward, but it kind of begs the question, why didn't you speak up before now and why were many subscribers getting emails saying service will be back 2-4th Nov etc.? because somebody who knew what was going down was clearly telling big porkies.

AzzA you have made the most sensible post I've heard thus far. Fair play for taking website out. I don't think u made it worse, actually u saved more people being scammed. 👍

If website was up they would be still promising all sorts. I was stroked and held on 8 weeks in hope.......I've now abandoned the wreckage and cut my loss. Put PayPal claim in, outside time frame but hey I paid 6 month sub to forum and it's gone so hopefully could get something back. Get out and get PayPal claim in irrespective of timeframe.

People may judge you azza but if I could've done it I would've too.:)
