My starview is STILL NOT back on 10/11/12.

why didn't you speak up before now and why were many subscribers getting emails saying service will be back 2-4th Nov etc.? because somebody who knew what was going down was clearly telling big porkies.

Other things where being planned for informing users by people other then myself for example starview customers email address where obtained and where going to be used in email shot warning people. Im not sure if that went ahead or not

I decided to post here to let mainly let people know that starviews database details have been compromised and post a risk for anyone using same passwords for multiple sites. I thought at same time i would put hands up to why site was down so that any other "morons" claiming this and that could be put down for good.
Now the more interesting question is this ...... there are people around and on all these forums that know what i know and alot more! anyone of them could come forward and give full picture to all. So im sorry for what has happened generally but iv played tiny role in larger puzzle.
 
Appreciate the honesty but you didn't answer my question regarding why customers were getting emails explaining the service would be back and giving dates when service will resume. This was obviously after the problem was evident and known.

Are you now suggesting this question should be answered by others in the know?
As you're probably aware nobody has thus far come forward to explain anything other than a whole host of idiots claiming to be up to speed and all have proven to be clowns so expecting anybody would, at this late date, crawl from the woodwork is highly doubtful.

I'm not on my own in thinking they've all ducked for cover.
 
I was reluctant to post sooner because watching alot of threads on various forums just getting locked and users being banned. This is probably one of the only forums that is allowing people to vent there frustrations. Iv been watching on tech ect but i wouldn't post there.

And yes im not just suggesting that other people know its fact that quite a few people know the details. I myself am not going to start posting peoples address and chat logs but i have given outlying information that i hope is enough to keep people from listening to any more representatives from sv/random idiots.

ill try not to post further in this thread unless im saying something new/usefull because I don't want to hijack the thread. so don't feel offended if I don't reply much.
 
forgive me but i still dont understand why one s....r is working when one is shut down due to lack of payment surely they would all have been shut down as i have said before anyone can say anything we have no way to prove or disprove rhese statements

Perhaps one server was paid year ahead and rest monthly is just one possible scenario - gah you made me post again lol
 
AzzA can you say whether sv users are at risk? I have asked this question before but am bricking it even more now. I have a lot of m8s still with boxes.
 
your only at risk in my view if you use same passwords for sv as other sites if you have any passwords that are same just change them. In my view risk is low. Only the site is compromised

In short always use diff passwords for each service you use because sites/forums/services often get breached even in large corporate environments.

As risk from virgin? heh if you phoned them up told them you had dodgy box thats now stopped working most they are likely to do is offer you discount for joining with them. None cares about end users they only go after profit makers typicaly

I rem when nagra 2 ended vm where putting up messages on some random channels saying "you lost your channels?" sign up for discounted package type thing. not sure if anyone else remembers that or had same thing. Hell in past iv even forgotten to take my cloned modems out of view when engineer been round :P
There is little to worry about other then getting ripped off..... in future i recommend using boxes that don't require subs or use sat.

Cheers for that but still not fully convinced, I switched to sat a while back and my sv brick was ceremoniously smashed up and binned so should be good heh???

i got this back from pp, put my claim in on 29th oct, just got this back on friday
 
every time you ask when will they be back on all you hear is nearly there yous have been saying this for months now come on for once tell us
 
think the other server been switched off as the 20% of channels that wer still on have gone still showing connected so i think the end as come
its just come back on ie the 20% that is not it all
