New 7 Day EPG Skybox & memobox f3 / f4 / f5 / m3 / f3s / f4s / f5s .

I have an F5S and do not have the epg and time setting i only have Timer setting

I wonder if anyone could help. I have an F3S, installed the download for 7 day EPG from skybox site, this installed ok but I was missing the EPG Time settiings on the systems menu. So I installed the 4th one down on the opening topic which has given me the setting I was missing. The problem I have is when I try to update the EPG, sometimes it seems to complete ok, other times it fails at various stages such as compression failed or epg update failed. In each case, it always still says No Data in the list for any country that I try to update. I'm using a 1gb fat 32 usb stick. Anyone know what could be causing this?

This has happened to me a couple of times.

What I did, was insert the memory stick that you use for the EPG into your pc. Delete the 2 files 21.fci & 21.fpg.

Put it back into the skybox & try again.
 
Thanks Kremmen. I've given that a try but no luck. The errors are Channel writeback failed on the first short run it does and Epg writeback failed after the 2nd longer update it does if it gets that far. I'm reformatting a couple of different usb sticks to see if that will make a difference.

While I'm waiting for that, any ideas on getting the youtube and youporn apps to work? I thought this update fixed that also. I get the video list on youtube but it doesn't actually play any of them and youporn only shows category list on left with no actual videos or titles shown.
 
Thanks Kremmen. I gave that a go but no luck. Tried reformatting the stick using the box still no luck. Formatting another stick now.

One other question, I thought this update fixed youtube and youp0rn but I can't get either to work. Youtube shows all the videos in a list but doesn't actually play any. Youp0rn doesnt show any video list at all. Any idea what the problem might be?

My You Tube & You p0rn works exactly the same as yours. I think we need to wait for another firmware update before it works again.
 
Right... all sorted! very easy to do and is much better than the standard EPG.

The only issue is, the timings are an hour out. I have the latest firmware installed but it's still an hour out.

Anyone managed to fix this?
 
Hit the menu key, System set up > local time setting > ( change region to UK ) all done.

I don't have that option.

In System Setup I have EPG and Time Setting and in there it is GMT Offset 0:00 and Summer Time Yes

That's all I have

Are you sure that you have the latest firmware installed?

The firmware in post 1 of this thread is out of date. There have been a few more firmware releases since then, the last 1 being to cure the 1 hour problem.

The latest firmware should show as 3601HD_10_04_2014_0670 in the tools > information menu.

The latest firmware can be downloaded from the Downloads section:-

The 7 day EPG is stored on the USB stick. Once you have updated the firmware, you shouldn't need to download it again.

You might need to enable it in the EPG & time setting menu.
