New member looking for advice.

Newbie
1st post so hopefully I don't break any rules. Ive been a lurker browsing the forum for a while but I'm now a member looking for a maybe a new provider. My current provider who Ive been with for a number of years has been pretty good but recently it's been terrible. My current set up is with an android box running Tivimate premium and I use a VPN.

I know iptv is not perfect by any means because of what it is. My current provider who I know I can't name/discuss, I do give them 10/10 for responding to messages via telegram but I'm always being asked to change the URL, is this normal? Plus, I can only count maybe 2 or times the system has gone in the first year, but within a few hours all is good. This year it has been nothing but issues. If I renew it'll be the 4th year with them but I'm starting to think to jump ship.

I am in their telegram group, so I see when they have an issue and they are on the case. I don't know whether to renew next month or not.

So, my main question is, is there currently an issue throughout where people are experiencing this or is it down to my provider?
Is having to change the URL in the tivimate setting normal thought out the sub?
Also do some of your channels have a provider watermark logo? I won't say what the watermark is just in case it's against the rules. I just don't like it, sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not.

I am going to post a request on the on the request post and ask for trials. I'm just curious if others are experiencing issues from their providers. Again, I know iptv is not perfect, but I really did think a few years back I hit the jackpot with this provider, but it seems to be going south.

MODS - If I have broken any rules, please delete post, send me a message stating what Ive broken and I'll learn from the broken rule.

Changing URL can happen. My provider has a watermark on some channels but not many. Would rather have reliable service not bothered about anything else

I've had a few over the years, providers have issues that are sometimes out of their control, i've had a couple of url changes on mine but because i sort of know my way around iptv i can sort most issues i have out myself, it's pretty obvious when there's an issue and it's not like the providers don't know it's happening, but users really think by putting a post on telegram saying hey my stream's gone down is gonna get it fixed sooner. Too many people expect a £150 a month service for £50 a year. I helped quite a few of my friends and family get their stream with my provider and when it stutters or goes down for thirty minutes they're blowing up my phone., i mean i don't make a single penny from them so in future it's got to be every man for himself. To clarify, i've never ever had a provider who never has a problem, my provider deals with it when it does happen and when you put a post up for a provider, read through the generic bullshit offer a lot of them make!

I have been with same supplier for years had a couple of DNS changes sometimes they need to do maintance

Sometimes I may have to swap to HD stream while they sort FHD but that is normally a couple of minutes

Sometimes when they tell me maintance might be a hour or so I have a backup

I would say £50 is cheap now I was paying that years ago for my main service.

When football and ppv is there are generally loads of streams so never worry

Its never going to be perfect but shouldn't be buffering and having issues on a daily basis

Thanks for the reply. I can't actually knock the service/provider, because when's it's working it's working, it's just this year there always more issues than usual. Has there been a major crackdown and is it affecting loads of providers/servers?

I don't suffer with any buffering and when I do, I just repoint the VPN. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say what categories I have but I do have all the UHD Sports channels (Im UK based btw) and few that support dolby atmos as my tv pops up the sign when I switch the channel. I did have catch on the UHD channels but that's no longer available now, was nice to watch the F1 when I missed it, FHD will have to do for now.

I'm going to ask for trials in the sub section.
Can someone explain to me why people ask for UK servers, does it really matter?
Plus who should I avoid and who should I seek? I read there are VIP providers and Veterans or are they the same?

Again, iptv is not perfect but there is always room for improvement, I just have to find.

Deffo look around, I have in the past and found worse providers than the one I was leaving. It can be trial and error. Didn't want to leave my last provider but they went Crypto only and I couldn't get into it. Change of URL is not unusual. Put a post up in the wanted specifying exactly whet you want and get as may trials as you can and test then all, preferably on the weekends when there is football on as to stress test it.

Sometimes it can be just the app you are using. You should know if there's a issue normally support groups light up.

I must say getting catchup on uhd is rare.

Sup, remember. You're in the middle of a high profile sporting event right now. IPTV or really piracy tends to be cat or mouse and now the cat is being highly aggressive. Changing URL's is just part of the hustle, it shouldn't happen often but it can happen and especially right now with so many high profile sporting events and IPTV becoming more public.

Your issue could to happen to any provider you choose and for what it's worth and by your own admission they're pretty straight forward when issue arise so you're far better off then most.
Your other issue with watermarks is because some source providers do watermark their channels. Services on the ground level will opt for the best quality stable streams they can find and groups that source channels watermark their channels to protect their investment. They don't really care about people who take offense to their watermarks as there isn't that many channel sourcing groups out there.

So, we're all getting screwed by AI right now. Even before the hardware pricing starting getting crazy UHD catchup was expensive as hell. Now the cost for storage only increased so you're probably not going to see someone really put down the cash for storage for 4k catch up. It's genuinely expensive for a small niche of people.

Can someone explain to me why people ask for UK servers, does it really matter?

It doesn't really matter no. Many people tend to just copy and paste things they see other people request because it sounds good to them. Realistically, they're never going to know if they have a server in the UK or not. But also too any half decent provider can curate a playlist a bit for you.

Plus who should I avoid and who should I seek? I read there are VIP providers and Veterans or are they the same?

So, from what it sounds like to me is that you have a decent provider overall. But that being said it's always to your benefit to look out at what's around you. Take trials, get to meet new people. These are the high seas and time will certainly change all things. Maybe there is a service out there you really like? The biggest trick in IPTV overall is simply knowing how to be your own advocate. VIP/Vet/nonvet/whatever make them earn your business and just don't go all in for a year. Actually, make sure the service and the customer support is up to your standards.

Anywho, have fun.

Edit: Added in some more clarification to a couple of points since bro seems genuinely new and you know the saying that high tides sink all ships. Let's uplift each other. :)
