ok it was on the openatv image and it was the graph epg guide, this is slightly different to the vix epg guide. the epg data wasnt skinned correctly if was a different colour so it may have defaulted to the original skin but it was only when i loaded up the bluehd that the guide colours corrected themselves, thats why i though it was referencing to the blue hd skin

ok update it was on the epg guide but openatv had the full screen guide with out pip that is what wasnt skinned correctly, when i went in menu and changed fron text to graphics then it was correct

As mentioned about half a lifetime ago, I wouldn't have had the patience to see this through so kudos to you.

Being grumpy was all part of the plan to keep my thread clean from unnecessary crap. And it worked to a degree. But to be honest I am actually a grumpy bugger.

Final version still says
"Set the number of rows to 8 in menu settings"
I would presume you meant to remove this text from the final version?

ALSO
from version 1.7 onwards, the spinner is shrunken, much smaller. Upto 1.7 it is normal size, then all versions after version 1.7 the spinner is tiny. I tried copying the spinner folder from previous version but that didn't change anything.

How do I make the spinners go back to normal size?

I have tested on 2 Vu+ boex and 1 Zgemma box.

Why remove the helper text it's there for people to see so they don't have to keep asking the same question why are the text over lapping

For the spinner that's how he set it in final version you can copy his spinners from the older version to his latest one

Ah, I saw file sizes for the spinners were same in 1.7 and assumed it wasnt the spinner png files themselves but a setting somewhere in a file. Just copied the spinners from 1.7 over to the latest version. Thanks!

In regards to the "help text" as you call it. Everyone who has been testing now knnows it is 8 lines. For it to permanently have the text there doesn't look great to everyone, some may be ok with it, some not.
I would love the option to remove this text on your dropbox optional files Kiddac.

No reason you can't remove it yourself I've done just that!
Ftp to the box, go to the slyk1 folder and edit the movie.xml file you will see the code 'set number of rows to 8 in settings' and just remove it.

I tried that before to change "Box Office" to "Recordings" and it removed the sky logo bar at the top of the recordings area. Kiddac said you can't just edit it and expect nothing else to change.

Just tried it wtth the "help text" now and it worked.

Just one last tiny niggle... Any ideas on how I can change it from "Box Office" to "Recordings" without making the logo bar disappear?

I'm pretty sure there's no actual template for 'recordings' all the templates use the same names as sly's, home, option's settings etc, might be why it caused problems because it don't exist, not sure?
Sly's actual planner screen comes under home on there boxes so changed mine to 'home' with no problems.

Also it might be the length of the text, recordings might be to long hence why it knocked out the bar at the top?
 
Just look in main templates. There will be a template in there called box office something. Cant remember exactly what its called In that there will be an elabel with box office as the text.

I don't recommend using bluehds spinner. It has an outer glow on it. When it is used on some screens it will revert to the 8 bit png so you will get scraggy edges on it.
 
I'm thinking of putting my own bootlogo on, is there any chance it might break the skin?

put what ever bootloogo you like on it. There is a program in my dropbox that enables you to do that.

There is a problem with bootlogo plugins that clash with my radio background on initial install of my skin, but I don't think it will be any problem once the skin is already installed.

Word of advice on bootlogos. It is better to find a good quality 1280 x 720 image and then use the bootlogo software to install it at 1920x1080 size.
If you just find a super high res 1920x1080 image and install it at 1920 size, although it looks super crisp it's is a bit of a memory hog.
 
I'm having a slight problem with changing the bootlogo. I have created the logo at 1280x720 and transferred it over but it still wont change. I presume when people talk about the boot logo that its the OpenATV text image that shows first before anything else? I am putting it in usr/share. Is this the correction location and is the filename of backdrop.mvi also correct? There is a folder in that location that has a shortcut on that is named backdrop.mvi but no matter what I do when I transfer the file it doesn't show it in the root of the usr/share folder.
Am I doing something wrong? I hope I explained it ok...

If you use the tool kiddac has put on his Dropbox it will convert your images to mvi and transfer the to the right location for you.just done mine, couldn't be easier.

If it's the openatv logo you want to change its not backdrop it's bootlogo, first window on the left in the programme.

Thanks so much Kiddac, now I can change EPG and Recordings screens to whatever text I like. Amazing!

Yeah that was the reason I replaced my BlueHD spinners with your ones even when I used BlueHD skin, even my default has been replaced with your one from version 1.7.

I noticed a bug on a friend's Technomate nano super when using this skin today. The movies/recordings are is just all black with the picture in the corner. When I press ok a recording will start, then I press stop and it shows the mmovies/recordings area. But if I leave then press file list to go into movies/recordings its black. On Xtrend 9500 the picons on Infobar dont work. Everything works great on Vu+ and ZGemma.

Strange bugs on technimate and xtrend, tried for hours to fix it but with bug you never know where the problem is. Tried older image, older settings backup. Gave up on those 2 boxes.
