i wanna say well done kiddac for this skin. i know you've had loads of thanks already but it looks great and the best part is the constant tinkering for perfection.
 
vix softcam skinned, vix swapmanager skinned seems to have worked just curious about it still showing Slyk 1 HD V1.58
 
The size of the package will go down when I clear out all the work in progress crap. As for the about us page, that is just static text. I change it now and again when I remember. Don't worry about what version it says on that page.

You can never have too many thanks. (although forum rules state you shouldn't just write Thanks to get your post count up). Genuine thanks with constructive comments are always welcome.
 
jymjym go to remove plugins then skins and it will say the correct version number next to slyk1hd obviously don't remove it though lol

Well just over 2 months ago I was a noob. I started out testing both the main backups on here sucmnsees vix and mtpockets openatv. Personally I didn't like VIX at all, maybe fraggles sky skin was putting me off. The colours were a bit garish. It lasted 2 days on my box. Openatv just seemed so much more user friendly and I preferred the bluehd skin. All the menus were accessible from the main menu, instead of being hidden away like some are with VIX. A couple weeks later I went out on a limb and just barebones my box with openatv and stuck with that. (and through that experience my guide 'guinea pigs needed' was born.) It was sooooo much better. Now 2 months down the line and thanks to this skin design I pretty much know both builds like the back of my hand. I haven't tried a barebones vix install yet, but for me the VIX backup is just buggy as hell. I know it's getting a bit old now and some of the bugs might have been fixed, but for me openatv is smooth and just works. For instance I can't even press the help button on vix without it crashing my box. I have had vix on my box for the last week for this skin testing. And I still don't like it, even with my skin on.

So as for which build... it would have to be an openatv build. Mtpockets 4.2 one is also getting a bit old now. And he seems less active on this forum now, so I presume he isn't doing a more recent one. Thomas's (er can't remember what it's called Fast and Loud build maybe), looks promising as he has kept it pretty much barebones. Haven't tried it myself though as I just stick to building my own setups now.

Everyone should build their own after a couple of weeks of using a pre-setup backup build. Then it's your build.

That's just my opinion. And a reminder that this thread is about my skin. Lets not have a debate on here about vix/atv/sucmnsee/mtpockets etc.
You have asked a question I have given you an insight into my preferred choice and a rough reason why. So I'd appreciate if that's the end of backup images conversations on this thread. Thank you.
 
Try it if your box stays on boot ftp share/enigma2 and delete the slyk1 folder that's all we did on vix until it was solved and report back if it works
 
Hi kidaac great work on the skin looks and feels great,
My channel listing on the EPG is blank on a lot of channels, I have EPG set to update daily at 04:00. Maybe I'm not doing it right so can someone talk me through it.

ok due to curiousity killed that cat, and the fact this vix image keeps crashing I have pressed the big red button. Software update. Is this going to brick my box. Ha

It never fixed my problem anyway. grrr. Is anyone on VIX able to press Device setup with out crashing their box.
setup...system..network...device setup.

I don't know if it's something in my skin or this vix build.
