Is it possible to put a VPN on a Zgemma?
 
No fix for zgemma clock on vix yet.

Yes vpn runs on zgemma. But no idea on setup. Other recent threads on it tho
 
My box has never had lights on the front since installing vix but I like it like that now ... 👍 stealth mode

good to no theres a fix though
 
Looks good, going to try and flash it now. With a lack of a com port are these boxes harder to recover from a bad flash than say a dreambox?
 
Not hard to recover from a bad flash - just repeat the steps you take to load image first time. My advice is take a bck up of your image when you have it set up the way you want it. That way you can always reflash in approx 10mins if you run into problems
 
guys how'd you backup the image then ?............ and usb to reflash later on when needed? what files , I've reflashed my box before but never made my own backup

I did a backup in "backup manager" the other day .....
I've found this file while browsing the folders with my computer, its named "openatv-zgemmas2s-4.2.1-2015-03-23_22-37.tar" size 383kb has 3 folders . thats a bit small isint?

To backup a zgemma on vix

Menu
setup
vix
Image manager
green for new backup

Then take the rar u get about 75mb. Unrar zgemma folder and inside it open sh1. Copy in files:
force
imageversion
splash
from an original flash folder. Thats it ready to flash. Dont forget to remove ur line if ur gonna share images.

how longs it take to back up ?

mines stuck on "backing up root file system..." 18/100 for ages now maybe 5mins

I had the box a couple times stop kinda freeze when doing something like deleting saved timers (that chelsea program eastenders!! and ant and deck program you know! :fear:) about 3 times i think its happen .....but its great watching tv changing channels browsing epg itsvery good no problems

I'll just pull the plug :beg:

still watching tv ...

its at 90/100 now :)

i used your copy of force imageversion and spash from your files of the flash if you get what I mean

hi all, new to this box and may sound a bit thick but I got a gzemma star 2 already with the opena.tv installed. I have put this file onto usb but when I restart the box it just goes onto the open image straight away. how do I flash this to the above image to get all settings, cheers
 
You may need to use HDDguru tool to format your usb pen (or try another pen). If using HDDguru do a low level format and then a full windows format on the pen. Then put image folder on and try flashing again
 
Also make sure its just the 'zgemma' folder u put on and its contents. Not the whole thing.

Also make sure with hddguru u FULL format. Then windows FULL. just quick in either wont do it.
 
well tried all the above. formatted using guru and windows full format both. turned box off, plugged sandisk 16gb into back of usb and it still just goes straight into the open image. doesn't show usb and flash on the front. I've added new folder called Root onto usb and just pasted the zgemma files in there and now its doin my head in...
 
I had same problem with sandisk Found Kinston worked ok Do not add another folder just put Zgemma folder on it
 
Yeh. We call the main folder on something 'root'.
so when u dbl click on a usb/hdd etc the first thing u see is called root.

So run both formats again and put zgemma folder and all its contents only on ur main part of ur usb.
