Hello there! I was planning to get a v8 pro, but these days I was looking to their homepage and I noticed that some other boxes have stronger cpu, for example v8 golden that has an 800 Mhz cpu! I wonder if someone has tested any of these, except pro!
The golden/angel etc are not actually proven for the uk and are still pre-sale. Yes I have tested and the V8 Pro came out top for its versatility and quality for such a small box. The Pro is aimed at the uk market with its cable facility and sat but don't forget it also has freeview/iptv/webtv etc etc. These boxes are available to members here at totally cost price, PM me if interested.

Thanks Reaper! It's just that the stronger cpu of the golden model along with the power vu reception capability seemed interesting! But of course, I wouldn't want to buy a non-tested box! 👍
Very few boxes at members cost left plus a few dongles. There will be no further shipments of the V8 PRO at the price offered to members on this site after this stock is gone. The actual rrp is £66 so we are getting one heck of a discount at techkings---9 left.
PM only.

Here are the instructions on how to locate your cable channels on the Openbox V8 PRO if you do not know your local cable frequencies.
Power on box and TV---ensure cable in RF in not LNB
Enter menu---installation---click on "cable"
When open locate "range search" and click open
In the list showing install the following:----
FREQUENCY START---------------------045.000mhz FREQUENCY END------------------------862.000mhz SYMBOL RATE--------------------------6952ksps MODULATION---------------------------Auto
Read again , so the cable in RF is critical to this ... Is this just a normal Ariel connection or is it the cable from the LNB as its a different fitting right ?
You need a cable line/gift.
If you have VM then the cable coming in will have an F plug on the end, you need to change or adapt it to an RF plug.
You cannot use the LNB cable from dish as that is for satellite only.

Still waiting for my box to arrive via the three legged donkey post here in Spain.
Have an impatient sister running two boxes and giving me grief about the IPTV function.
Have any users sussed this out and managed to locate some decent sites via IPTV which show the popular TV series such as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Americans etc ?
A clue to these would be helpful as I am fishing in the dark until the end of Feb when my own box arrives !

I gather from that response that there are no pre loaded IPTV links on the box in the first instance ?
She found the IPTV button etc and tried a number of options but so far has not found any worthwhile sites ?
Should I just tell her to wait until mine arrives !!...lol
Lots of pre-loaded but better to add a customised list of your own---there are Filmon sites on the box showing oldies and kids cartoons plus sites from other countries but you need to read and add at your own discretion. I know you learn fast so better to let you play. Many more films etclol found in network apps in menu plus you can forward content from pc to box using dnla and now I'm confused. Some people are never satisfied lol

Hi Mr W, could I please have the full copy of the cable setup please, as I have no luck of getting the channels after the firmware update dated 27th Jan 2016.
Thanks.
I tried the setup but no luck and I can't tune any DVB-C channels and I have VM cable. I use "KONIG splitter with DC Pass" to split the Broadband router cable.
I had this working prior to the Bug attack on 2nd Dec 2015. Then upgraded the firmware dated 27th Jan 16.
Reaper, could you please write something about the tuner sensitivity, like comparing it to openbox s9, for instance?
How it works with low symbol rate transmissions or feeds?
Does it support hbbtv/MHEG-5?
