Juventus have sacked manager Igor Tudor following the side's defeat by Lazio.

The Croatian joined the Italian club in March as Thiago Motta's replacement.

But the 43-year-old has overseen an eight-match winless run, which has left the club eighth in the Serie A table.

Defeat against Lazio on Sunday was the side's third consecutive loss in all competitions.

Aston Villa defender Matty Cash has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal with the club until 2029.

The Poland international joined Villa from Nottingham Forest in 2020, and has gone on to make 193 appearances in claret and blue.

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has gone on trial in Athens accused of instigating football violence and supporting a criminal organisation.

The 58-year-old, who owns Greek side Olympiacos, is accused, along with four other board members of two misdemeanour counts - instigating violence with statements against authorities and of supporting a criminal group between 2019 to 2024.

Marinakis, who was represented by his lawyer Vassilis Dimakopoulos in court, and the other Olympiacos board members have dismissed misdemeanour charges as groundless.

Premier League clubs have voted for an overhaul of financial regulations from the start of the 2026-2027 season (I will admit I asked Co-Pilot to summarise it as the report I saw was pages long)

⚽️ What’s Changing?
From the 2026/27 season, clubs can only spend up to 85% of the money they bring in on player wages, transfers, and agent fees. (I believe for those clubs playing in European competitions this figure is set at 70% not 85%)
This replaces the current “Profit & Sustainability” rules, which were based on how much clubs could lose over three years.

✅ What Got Voted Through
The 85% spending cap (known as the “squad cost rule”).
Rules designed to match UEFA’s system, so clubs playing in Europe follow the same standards.

❌ What Was Rejected
A stricter hard salary cap (limiting total wages to a fixed number) was voted down.
Proposals to keep the old system alongside the new one were also rejected.
Some clubs — especially those with bigger revenues — opposed the changes, but the majority voted in favour.

🏟 What It Means for Fans
Clubs must live within their means: spend what they earn, not more.
Overspending could lead to penalties like fines or points deductions.
The aim is to stop reckless spending, protect clubs from financial trouble, and keep competition fairer.

👉 In short: no more endless spending sprees — clubs have to balance the books

Chairman Peter Lawwell adjourned Celtic's annual general meeting inside five minutes following chants of "sack the board" by some shareholders.

The BBC has retained the rights to broadcast highlights of the men's Champions League for a further four seasons until the end of the 2030-31 campaign.

Highlights from Europe's elite club competition have been available on the BBC since the 2024-25 season as part of a three-year deal.

Alex Kay-Jelski, director of BBC Sport, said: "The Champions League is the pinnacle of European club football and we're delighted to be providing a free-to-air option for fans who want to see every goal and moment that matters.

"This deal continues our game-changing football portfolio and ensures audiences can enjoy the very best coverage across BBC TV, iPlayer, Sounds, radio, and digital platforms."

Highlights will continue to be shown from 22:00 on the Wednesday of match weeks on BBC TV, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app, with clips also available online and on social media.

A Match of the Day programme will also be broadcast on BBC One after the news on Wednesday nights.

The show, which can also be watched on iPlayer, will bring viewers all the goals, reaction and analysis from that week's Champions League fixtures.

The BBC Sport website and app will also provide comprehensive coverage of the competition through live text coverage, news, reports and in-depth analysis, while BBC Radio 5 Live will continue to have live commentary of selected matches.

The extended Champions League deal complements the BBC's existing domestic football rights which include Premier League highlights and live FA Cup coverage.
