Question about WiFi+ ethernet cable (Samsung TV + Homatics)

Hi all, I have a quick question to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I have a 7–8-year-old Samsung TV. I don't remember the exact series, but it was one of the higher-end models at the time.

Recently, the TV has started disconnecting from the internet (WiFi) every a couple of weeks (or sometimes every couple of days).
What's strange is that the TV still shows it's connected to the Wi-Fi, but it says there's no internet connection. The apps on the TV stop working, even though the internet is working fine on other devices in the house.

I also have a Homatics box connected to it via an Ethernet cable, and I'm wondering if that could somehow be causing interference, or if the TV itself might be developing a fault.

Not everyone in the house uses the apps on the Homatics box, so I'd still like to keep the TV connected to Wi-Fi.

I'm trying to remember if this all started after Virgin Media installed their new router back in March (Hub 5), but I feel like it's only been happening over the past couple of months.

Has anyone run into this before or have any ideas what might be causing it?

Can the TV not be Hardwired via a Ethernet cable. If it can id start there.

As for the Homatic box causing interference its doubtful unless your using the same static IP on the TV and the Homatic box.

If it did start with the Hub 5 then reset the thing and see if it helps.

Cheers! The Homatics box is running through a VPN, so you're probably right.

The best plan is probably to connect the TV via Ethernet and see if that sorts it. Unfortunately, I'm not home at the moment- I just got the dreaded "it's not working again" phone call 😂.

Always advisable to disable 2.4Ghz network if you can unless you have IOT things that need it. Stops devices trying to hop between 2.4 & 5 Ghz bands. I had things in the house like podpoint charger that had no 5Ghz option so set up a separate Guest Wifi on 2.4 Ghz for those things to connect to.

They wont swap about if you rename SSID and log into whichever one you prefer

Am I reading it right that you have an Ethernet cable from the Homatics box to the TV? If so, remove that, you will absolutely be getting issues there. It will be trying to pull internet from the homatics box, so unless you have it setup as a router somehow (doubt it?) then it needs to come out. Leave it connected via HDMI only.
