Recording IPTV. Do you have a reliable way to do it.

Nope its not.

It's FS1 (Fox Sports 1) and ESPN shows I mostly want to record. They are on at times that aren't family friendly for me to watch them live.

I think I might just try a new provider. The setup I had with Sparkle was mostly working so it could be my provider just got worse. I have a shield lying around so I'll see if I can dedicate that to just recording so that nothing I'm doing interferes with it. I'll use the thread here to look for a new provider.

I see plenty of comments on Reddit that Sparkle is more consistent than TM at recording for some users.

I have an ULTIMO 4k using openvix image. With my jediextreme plug in i regualrly record my mums indian channels soap drama stuff. It works like 80 percent of the time. Every now and then it fails but then i set back ups to record.
Works pretty well

Really strange you said 80% of the time.

I setup 10 30min timers yesterday and this morning had a look 8 worked 2 failed.

Not good enough for me just 1 failed recording of my sports would result in remotes hitting walls.

Well I mean I record her show everyday and sometimes once or twice a week it fails to record. But I record the satellite channel as a backup up in standard definition.

IPTV records fine for me using ViX on an Enigma2 box.
Hi

What Enigma2 box do you have? Also just wondering if there's a guide on how to get IPTV on those? I'm paying a fortune to Sky atm

Just wondering if there might be a way to see how you put that box "together"? I've used Linux boxes before with no issues but that was in the card sharing days. Are there any guides on how to set it up and get em ready for IPTV? When someone then sells you an IPTV service, not sure how you apply that in the actual box?

Thanks

You will have to do a bit of reading as most questions have been answered, BUT iptv on enigma2 can be tricky and my advice is get the best possible box, I use a uno4kse but use it for sat and terrestrial as well for get full value. I don't record but if you want to record you will need 2 lines ie pay 2 lots and from the same provider.
When you ask you say you want enigma 2.

So to get you started here is the guide. A lot has moved on I use Bouquetmaker and see Willo above to set the box correctly using Openvix if you want to record. Thanks to

I use E-Channelizer (on PC) which is perfect, enabling editing, merging, renaming the bouquets/channels etc in your playlist and then also to add the freesat channels and multiple epg sources. This you then push (or set to auto push via hub feature) to your E2.

Regarding recording I have 3 providers 1 of which records perfectly, other 2 are a bit hit and miss. However the beauty of E2 recording is any stream glitch gets an auto restart, so you may miss a minute or so whilst with Android devices any stream glitch results in failure.

Is your box "the best possible box"?

Or should I look at another.

Any ENIGMA 2 receiver will support IPTV pretty much. VU are good qaulity enigma 2 boxes but you dont need to purchase something really expensive. Are you planning on just using for IPTV or do you have satellite connection needs?

I just need it for IPTV tbh. I guess connecting it to freesat isn't too bad too but that's more a nice to have

It'd also be nice to have a box where the HDD is built in or where I could attach it, instead of a USB or network attached one. Not sure if those exist too?

There were many from memory that had in built HDD , but i have never found fault.t with my H2S that has an external HDD attached by cable (it's 15 ish years old) nor my H5 2TS which is about 8 years old.
Sometimes we can over think things, ~ sometimes a reasonably priced box is not "cheap"

Just to add as you only need iptv and bearing in mind I use my uno4kse for terrestial and sat and have a motorised dish and i use a unicable lnb BUT for proper IPTV I use a formuler z11 pro . The difference is when you get an enigma2 box you have to configure it, eg load an image, then load iptv bits and so on. With a dedicated iptv box you sign up enter details and everything gets loaded automatically in other words you sit back and enjoy. I don't record iptv but I know the formuler has an micro sd slot.

I hope this helps and my motto is cheap is not always good and good is not cheap.

If you want the benefit of both get an ab com pulse and the formuler and then you will have mastered iptv.

Sorry I'm not sure why I shoukd get both the ab com pulse and the z11 pro max?

Note its the z11 pro box not the pro max. The uno4kse is about 250 plus you need an ssd another 40. Thats too much for iptv/freesat. If you wanted to really see the difference between a dedicated iptv and using an enigma 2 you could get both for less than the uno.

It was only a suggestion.

By now you should have got the idea of whats involved.

I agree, spending out on decent E2 and then Z11 is crazy. Accepting that the E2 setup can be technical (which may lead to odd downtime issues at critical times) I would suggest backing that up with a cheap and cheerful android device (for those just in case moments)

The abcom pulse is an e2 box, right? Or the other way around?
