Broadband Retentions leaving Virgin question - Price increase

I can have BT or whoever it's already installed in my house aswell so can have full fibre off anyone who supplies in my area really
In our area only option for fibre is virmin , when scheme was built all bt cables underground old copper wires, no telegraph poles as to say so no fiber to pole even available here and before even though i was supposed to get say 65Mbps most I ever got was 19 Mbps.

Yeah they still put the full fibre above ground you need 2 lines if you want a landline. Obviously virgin underground

As an update, I ended up with Vodafone, compared speeds are nowhere near VM but my internet seems OK and my home systems are working, cctv, Tado, Ring. I just hope for my sake that when the footy season starts again the Firestick will be stable for my Mrs to watch her beloved Swindon Town!😨

I would strongly advise when using Vodafone to use a VPN. If they work out you're using iptv they will throttle your speeds.

I’ve been using Vodafone BB for over 2 years now and never had to use VPN with my main IPTV supplier. My secondary iptv supplier requires vpn every time a premier league game is on, this happened when I was with VM and also with Vodafone. It’s all down to your iptv supplier and nothing to do with ISP’s I’m afraid lads

I'm not talking about blocks mate. It's a quite well known thing. Dosent happen to everybody but they are well known for throttling speeds if they work out you use iptv

I currently have m125 package with virgin for £22.57 they've emailed me saying I can renew for the same price.

I can't find anything else to match this unless I get a knock on the door from city fibre

This one is £8 a month, gives you 64 gig of mobile data unlimited calls and texts. And would also take your broadband speed to the next level available. In ops case would be 250 Meg. So for 30 notes would have the deal above. Not bad imo😉

I managed to get 264 Mbps for £23.00 as my contract was coming to an end. I'll keep an eye out for better deals over the next few weeks as I should be able to cancel within 14 days

I am looking to change to Virgin 500mb £29.99 a month and £ 70.00 back or recommend by a friend £ 50.00 each back. Being with Bt for years but they cannot supply full fibre and its more money a month are there any problems streaming with Virgin .

Sometimes I need a VPN for Vod when football is on live TV is fine I guess it's a server they have on the block list. VPN doesn't cause any issues with connection though

Can't say I had any problems streaming but I had my router in modem mode and used Deco's around the house. Be prepared for absolute sheit customer services if you do need them and the usual extra £££'s come renewal.
