I still have my Iptv sub and wouldn’t be without it as it gives you way more than what satellite alone can, I haven’t missed a game I’ve wanted to see this season as if it’s not on sat it’s available via the numerous Iptv sports channels. Iptv is definitely a step forward and has something for everyone but it doesn’t match the crispness of a sat feed IMO.
Same here, I've just bought a month with a new provider. Much better quality than my last provider and vod is very good

Thanks kegnkiwi and mike123. I ordered my viark sat 4K from Spain last week and the carrier seems to be super slow. The package is still in Spain. Just wondering when it reaches, U.K. customs may take their own sweet time.
As I understand another language, I was looking on YouTube and there are plenty of video for these boxes on there from few Middle East and South Asia. Plenty more than European and openly discussing things which we may find it difficult to discuss here.

Yes I also ordered a 4k box the other week, and It's still sat in Madrid apparently, hopefully won;t take to long.

You're right, search forever server on youtube, lots of interesting videos from Pakistan, need to brush up on my Urdu, reports of opening Indian DTH platforms and Paksat, but I'm surprised they're receiving Hotbird and 16 east, Pakistan is on the edge of the footprints.

I looked at one video I was surprised at the number of different boxes 40 odd the firmware listed
EDIT: perhaps that was just to update channel lists.

I have small dish fitted privately as I live in a town house and have tv points in each bedroom. Sky was not ready to install a dish high up on second floor wall near roof so had to get it done privately. Now to make use of the viark box, I am thinking of converting it to a motorised dish. Is that a big project?

It would be another install, Bigger dish and motor.

Thanks. I am tempted to call the company who installed the dish in first place to install a motorized dish after the snow has stopped. Did you install your dish yourself? What answer do we give the installer if he asks me how I am going to watch foreign channels?

My reason for doing something like this would be to say that I am a satellite geek and want to scan the ark from 42 East to 45 West for FTA stuff. Most installers are aware of latest developements on Sat scene..

If you have more than one satellite box and they are used by different people at once then you wil need seperate motorised dish or everyone will be tied to what satellite you are on.
Good point, haven't thought about it/ So I will retain my current freesat dish and get a additional motorized dish.

Latest update : Initial news from DD engineers in ( UK ) :_ All Sky UK cards are down soon ..... New ECM changing. And new change on encryption will add soon . Sky UK down soon..... But there is hope

Not sounding too promising that ..hope they fix and it stays

The Sky uk channels were always meant to go off in early February, but hopefully they may be able to fix it, but I am not too sure that it will be fixed this time.

I thought there may have been more updates on the new C/S system on E2 boxes using mgcamd or cccam, havent heard of any more developments in a few weeks.

That's why nobody pushes anyone into buying a box. It's an informed decision.
Yes, people have been aware for a while not to buy it for fixed 28.2e only. I'd be very surprised if it comes back firing on all cylinders again, but hopefully I'm wrong

That’s ok. It was an informed but wrong decision. The only consolation is that the box will come with IPTV which if half decent then I will recover some of my investment in the box. Once the lockdown lifts then I can get a motorised dish fitted or 80 cm fixed dish with 3/4 lnb for 13e, 19e 23.5e and 28e.
Apart from above satellite, are there any other satellite I should be looking out for?
