Signal being blocked

Hi, my father currently uses a sky dish for Freesat but there are trees now blocking his signal. Local council won't cut trees down, is there any other way of getting Freesat.
Will be no issue when leaves fall off but come spring we will be back to same issue.

Would it be possible to re site the dish to somewhere with line of site ?

It's already at the highest point below gutters, there's 3 trees in front an they have all started to grow into one another an they are taller than the house. We have asked to have them trimmed back but dont gold much hope. Father doesn't want to put dish on a pole as it would have to go up a fair height to clear trees.

Is Freeview (i.e an aerial) an option? Or if neighbours will allow a cable from their dish?

Otherwise Freely.
He uses a zgemma h9.2h box, with IPTV on it. But likes to use the Freesat for local stations. Can Freeview be used with this boxm

If it works for your normal TV , it will work. Best way is to try it.

Assumption is you know what to do with the receiver. If you need a hand, say so and people will help. We'll need to know which image, including the version/date..

Using openvix 6.6.001 and wooshbuild, not sure what version of this is on box. Haven't updated in over a year as it's been working ok.

Connect the aerial to the receiver.
If you dont know what your local transmitter is, go to the Freeview website on your PC. Put your dad's postcode in and it will tell you. You will need this for ABM later.

In tuner configuration, you should see DVB-C and DVB-Tl.
DVB-C, set this to disabled, not configured, nothing connected.
DVB-T, set the country to UK. If you mast is listed select it. Otherwise "All regions" is fine.

In ABM:
Disable the Freesat provider.
Enable Freeview, select your mast/region and run it. i.e perfom an ABM scan. You don't need to run ABM regularly. If it is on a timer disable it.

Back to same problem as last year with the trees blocking my old man's dish so he can't get any Freesat channels.
So I have done the above with a freeview aerial and I am getting this when I try to scan in with ABM. Brand new indoor Freeview aerial that is working in upstairs TV.
Any ideas?

Could be the indoor aerial signal is too weak where the box is try moving it near a window or higher up and do a manual scan instead of ABM first

What box is he using and what region have you got selected in ABM?

H9.2h should be fine maybe ABM is picking the wrong transmitter try doing a manual terrestrial scan first and see if it finds channels before running ABM again

Only 2 input options. Tuner b for sat dish and tuner a for Freeview aerial and it's in tuner a. Will try a stronger aerial to see.
When doing a manual scan. What channel MHz do I pick it's bring up loads

Yeah sounds like the aerial probably just not strong enough mate especially with an indoor one

For manual scan he needs the correct transmitter frequencies for his area in Northern Ireland otherwise it’ll just scan random stuff
