Skybox F3 was a great box and a bargain the only weakness it had was when the box freezes on epg other then that its good

Far from it bud.I dont know you im only going on what youve said in the thread.Ohh and calling me a kid (adult conversation over) doesnt go down to well.Ohh and thinking you know more than most?what makes you think most dont know more than you?He who knows it all knows nothing.Just my opinion of course.

THE THREAD IS ABOUT SKYBOXES NOT AGE OR OTHER ISSUES bobless if you have a comment about skybox/openbox that will help other members with skybox issues thats fine slate me by pm if you wish but keep the thread to skybox/openbox faults

Do you have a comment on skybox/openbox issues bobless? as that is what the thread was started for. if not move on and give other people chance to comment on their skybox/openbox issues.
 
Thank you simon.i have no comment on the subject at present.If wheelo could look in to the poll i think it may help others.As the results will speak for there self be it in favour or not.
 
Faults i have found with skyboxes/openboxes from different suppliers.
Firmware update file mismatch. If you brought the satbox as genuine SEND IT BACK its a clone box not genuine and cannot be updated with the genuine firmware.
NO SIGNAL on different channels 5% signal only. This is a skybox/openbox only problem you can buy a inline coax fix to solve the issue or replace lnb of the satdish.
Satbox freezing up after passing through a none working HD channel. Switch off satbox by plug and turn back on to unfreeze satbox.
Hope this info helps skybox/openbox users.

Whats the point of a poll? we all know you pays your money you get a better box simple as, BUT not everyone got that sort of money or want every sat from europe to africa, most people want an entery level satbox which the skybox/openbox is BUT there are so many faults with them that most people think they have done something wrong which they have not. Iam just pointing out the faults with the satbox what i have found. Every satbox has their faults even VU/Blades ect but most newbies tend to go for skybox/openbox but i was just highlighting the problems that may occur. Im well aware that if are ok if you get a good one but there is a lot of rubbish ones on the market it may only be £30ish but its alot of money to throw in the bin if you get a bad one also gives you no end of sleepless nights thinking u done something wrong.

I dont know everything but just take a look at general sat/skybox threads all same issues also why sell no signal inline coax fix if this is not an issue???? ps dont blame the lnbs as they work fine with other satboxes

Do you not think a poll would give ppl a more concise view of the skybox?Taking your word for it on skybox,blade,vu e.t.c is just your view.We know all boxes can/do have issues.This thread is regarding the skybox.Maybe we can arrange a poll regarding x amount of different boxes.Its just ppl.s opinions/experience with boxes.Surely its a win for the consumer to have that kind of info from the ppl with which ever box no?Cant see what you have against a poll?If you have a poll the stats will show how many ppl favour/are happy with which ever box.
Btw the title should be changed as its your opinion not(The truth)Just my opinion:)

skybox does the exact job it was set up to do, provide satellite channels and hold cccam etc to unlock premium channels through c/s. Granted its a basic box but it does the job it was designed to do and to most not having an amazing epg or having to update the channel list doesnt matter as the price for the box is great value for money. When getting one of these boxes make sure you get a reputable seller who deals genuine boxes. I done it and have had barely any problems, install the channel list and cccam and update the channel list then leave the box alone and all should be fine.
 
i think the skybox thread speaks for its self dont you?
but you want a poll then fine if admin wants to start one.
But bobless why sell a no signal fix in line coax for skyboxes/openboxes if there was not an issue?
Also why do people get file mismatch when trying to upgrade firmware? (i got stung on that one only once sent new box worked perfect on firmware upgrade)

Not sure m8 if is to do with skybox/lnb e.t.c?To tired but will check in this thread tomorrow.Think Kremmen is your man for advice on that?.Hopefully he,ll look in tomorrow.the wifes banging on the floor for her annual mot(i wish).Enjoy all:bye:
 
eprom maybe for file mismatch and wrong voltage to lnb for no signal as a guess lol

your keeping me up simon im tired bud.File mismatch will happen with clones obviously but will also happen if you saved in a certain way as windows changes the file format.I will answer properly tomorrow(knackered)
 
File mismatch also happens on " genuine" box's when the original seller/flash/supplier updates it and locks out USB firmware updates via null modem cable to stop people that think they know everything messing with them and then blaming the server or rubbish box's, like sky used to lock down their modems, etc. It's like anything in life you pay for what you get that's why a Dacia is cheaper than a Lexus for example, simples.
 
I've used M3 F3 and F5 and found them ideal for what they a are for. Watching TV !!!

If you want bells and whistles then go Enigma it really is that simple. My favourite Enigma brand is Golden Interstar Xpeed range. Good value for the performance and spec.
