SSD for Movie Recording

Has anyone tried using an SSD for movie recording instead of a conventional hard drive?

Not exactly the answer I was looking for however:- Speed, Durability, Silent running, they don't suffer from Fragmentation issues unlike conventional hard drives and they use less power are just a few of the benefits. Anyway because these don't have external power requirements does anyone know if the H2.S USB port is up to powering one?

I am running a 320gb 2.5" USB external from the rear port without any power issues at all. Someone did post that they had read not to use the USB to power a drive for xyz reason. Mine has been plugged in since before Christmas and hasn't let me down yet. I do put the box in standby overnight but other than that it is on all day with the drive set not to sleep.

SSD = OTT i doubt you would see any benefit over a standard 2.5" or 3.5" hard drive as the USB ports are probably only 2.0 and for somewhere near SSD speed you need USB 3.0 which still does not come close
