Swap manager on lx2?

was just browsing through some of the menus on my lx2, can anyone shed some light what the swap manager menu is about?

The swap manager sits on your usb for the buffering to go on , when watching streaming films Ect When it is full streams tend not to work If you use a plugin (extensions) Cacheflush Clears it

neither of which should be needed on the lx box,if you had the old vu duo then yes both needed.
