Viark VIARK TYPE BOXES

Okay factory reset and flashed 1.30, expiry showing and audio working, thanks for the advice.
A lot of people ignore the factory reset and sometime you get away with it.

Any odd things not working as they should and a factory reset is the fist thing users should try.

1.30 working fine here, it does remove your channel list and setting on the install though.

Is that what you mean by messed it up ? Alway backup your channel list.
Thanks @Ferret. So I did the online update without backing any of my channel lists and settings beforehand. My mistake and admittedly somewhat lazy given the regular warnings from all of you.

The resulting "upgrade" to 1.30 removed my expiry and server connections to disconnected. Even so, I then proceeded to a factory reset, followed by another reload, followed by another factory reset.

Unfortunately, everything still showed disconnected. I then proceeded to load version 1.23 from USB and did a factory reset and all connections returned, but not all desired channels clearing.
I then did a USB upgrade to version 1.28, followed by a factory reset and the connections were retained and now all desired channels are clearing.

I will likely do a USB upgrade to 1.29 and factory reset, after backing up all my channels and settings and go forward. I will stay at 1.29 until advised otherwise.

One thing for sure is that I am only doing upgrades via USB from now on. No more online updates for me.

You can download the upgrade via server straight to usb rather than stb, then install from usb.

After reading comments regarding update to 1.30 and guys on here getting problems with this update , I must admit have decided to hold off doing update untill we get the all clear from the majority off members on here to say it's good to go 👍 or till stàrt to loose channels ect .

I’ve noticed in the 1.30 firmware version a PIN number is required to access the menu/channels section. The default pin on my viark sat 4k is now 9876 if anyone requires it. Also the no sound issue was simply resolved by pressing the vol+ button on the viark remote.
Have you checked you have NO selected under Menu-settings-parental control ?

Im not sure what is going on with various reported issues with 1.30. I have none of these issues but then again after i run a update i then factory reset.

You members with issues did you do a factory reset ?

this is awesome. anyone stuck on 1.30 and want to know the pin confirm its 9876 to access the menus........

will try now and see if I can roll back via USB that I can access the menu vs doing the hard reboot method detailed above
