Cable What causes glitching?

Andy873

Newbie
I have checked everything, eg router, signal strength, splitters, firmware etc. Yet I STILL get glitching on some channels. Why is that and what can I do?
Thanks

Glitching can be down to many things.

9 times out of 10 though it will be the internet connection to the box or the server.

Get a test line from elsewhere, compare the results and that should give you an idea where the
problem lies.

Some providers are better than others. You will always get an element of glitching from time to time no matter who provides your line.

I have checked my internet connection and router-They are very strong.
If they were too low, why would most channels still work without any problem?
The odd thing is that it is all or nothing-Most channels work perfectly well without any glitching. Some do not appear at all :(
Someone suggested to me that I buy myself for about £3 a "No Signal Fix Adapter''. What do you think of that?
Thanks

I've been through all the channels and 90% of them work perfectly and with no glitching at all
There are about 40-45 which don't appear at all. An example chosen at random is Sky Arts or Sky Arts HD. Another one chosen at random is Discovery History (and yet Discovery History + 1 works perfectly!)
Many thanks

Glitching will usually happen on any channel, what you are describing now is glitching on specific channels
and channels not showing, which sounds more like a tuner problem, sorry but nothing surprises me about Zgemma

Buy a better box don't waste your time with them.

So it is the box :( :( I thought I had done my reserarch and so many people had recommended the ZGemma
Okay thanks
Am I allowed to ask what box you would recommend? Of course this is for legal viewing only :) :)
Thanks

Could it be a lack of a swap file?

Oh sorry? I have no idea what that means but I have Googled it :) How can I check my Swap File?
Thanks

I had a problem similar to this and the mg_cfg file I used was for sat only, in the file look for ecm time out value for sat was set at 5 but for cable it should be 10

Yeah, buy an officially supported box from world of sat flashed with Openvix.

There are plenty to choose from,

Also have a read here

Look at the main board on the forum, between 6-7 posts out of the 10 are Zgemma related

All day, every day.

Oh this looks interesting-Many thanks :)
Sorry for asking what may be a silly question but how do I look up my ECM time out value? Where do I go via Menu? Thanks

Oh no :( :( :( Does this mean I have wasted my money? I was just in a rush before Xmas to replace my Kryptview
Should I try to use it or just give up already and buy a proper box?
