Which streaming device?

Looking for a budget iptv streaming device for my uncle under £50.

Is the firestick the best option? Any other suggestions?

I use the chromecast 3rd gen but can't seem to find any new for sale.

No wouldn't bother with firestick Homatics 4k stick would be my advice

Yes unless devs rewrite apps to work. But Amazon are trying to get away from people who use firesticks for iptv so could just totally block.

Any current amazon device won't be updated with new OS. But dosent mean they won't try to block sideloading

Its about the quality of the hardware you can technically have better specs on paper but means nothing if low quality hardware

You could just run the apps on external storage if they do block any that don’t have malicious code. Which users are reporting works with apps that have been blocked.

Why is the Thompson 270 low quality hardware.
It’s the same as the Onn pro but sold under license by Thomson in Europe.

Personal choice based around support, however I've no idea on what the supports like on the 270. Never had any issues with Mecool boxes as a long term device so at the budget end id stick with those.

If i was bothered about the ram then the Homematics has even more ram
