WilloBuild WilloBuild OpenViX 6.7 Series

Are you able to share with me a video of you doing it? a screen recording or something? i feel like i am doing everything right but i cant tell if my box is knackered or i am missing something. I can flash no problem to the box but it all goes wrong from there
I would do but in the pub now.

How did you get on with H7?
It's too late now but I flashed a spare partition in my AX61 earlier and it was fine. It won't be any different on a H7.

Just connect to the box with putty and paste the script and press enter.
Follow the prompts for box type/model and partition number.
You will see the horizontal white flashing bar on the TV screen.
If you've flashed the current partition it will reboot automatically.
If you've flashed a different partition you may have to use the multiboot manager in startup/standby menu to boot the target partition.

On reboot just restore my backup, not one of yours.
Follow the prompts to set up screen size, tuners etc.
Set a password in the network menu to access with FTP.

Why are you using Backup Manager from the ViX menu?
After a fresh install of ViX the box will automatically detect the backup if the storage is mounted properly.

As mentioned after flashing the box it does not reboot. Hence why i cant understand why its not working for me, you can see that the storage is mounted correctly

you can see that the storage is mounted correctly
The video doesn't show the mount points. I've been uneasy with the idea of using a 32Gb USB stick as storage from the beginning.
The H7 has a slot for a permanent HDD. Is there a reason for not bothering with one?

To be honest never thought of putting one in there, i guess i just got used to using the USB stick across both Wooshbuild & Grogbuild. So if this is a mount issue preventing the box from rebooting what should the mount be on the USB stick prior to being -

Would it be an option to use a different partition then on the USB stick as mentioned below -

ENTER THE PARTITION NUMBER TO BE FLASHED OR JUST PRESS ENTER IF YOU DON'T USE
MULTIBOOT

It's mounted correctly, but make sure that you don't remove it at all.
You''re not going to get many recordings on it though, as well as EPG, Picons, Timeshift, swapfile if enabled etc.

Follow these instructions and flash a different partition:

Just connect to the box with putty and paste the script and press enter.
Follow the prompts for box type/model and partition number.
You will see the horizontal white flashing bar on the TV screen.

Followed instructions, flashed image, system rebooted as expected. No option to restore backup through. This must be a partition issue. Looked at multiboot manager tried both images i could not see nothing appeared to restore your image. Can you or some one provide me with a video walkthrough please.

If you've flashed the current partition it will reboot automatically.(Current partition worked and rebooted but no option popped up)

Before you do that, please go into backup manager and check that it shows you some backups. Look, don't do anything.

Can you please also issue this command (using Putty/any other terminal client) and post back what it says:
df -Th

Also, does your receiver have USB 2 and USB 3 ports?

Off home will do that when i get back and will post information here

That is weird. It's flashing and appears to just restart the current E2. If it had rebooted into the newly flashed image, you would have got an option to restore settings then plugins. If it didn't find the backups, it would go straight to the Install wizard.

Please post a screenshot of the images offered to you in the multiboot manager.

Do you have any important timers or anything else setup?

Thats everything you have asked for

Okay. Looking good.
1. In multiboot manager, Reboot into PIP mode.
2. After it reboots, go back into backup manager. Select the willow backup. Apply it. Both settings and plugins.

Just noticed your flash drive is not in ext file system. If you still have a problem,
1. transfer that willow backup file to pc
2. Iinitialise/fomat in ext file system
3. Restart and go into backup manager. This is to ensure all required folders are created.
4. Transfer the backup file in stage 1 back to receiver.
5. Re-apply willow backup

I think your issues have been because you are in kodi mode.
