XLMTV fix for V6/V8

Hey,

I've tried this - See the picture. It says it's the correct date for the EPG but at the bottom it still thinks its in 1903 and won't budge from it.

It just shows nothing when on the EPG still. I've tried following Reapers step by step instructions in relation to formatting the USB to fat 32 but still no luck!

Just an idea ---a few posts ago someone went thru all the procedure but failed to leave usb key in---don't suppose you have done that, have you? lol

Afraid not it's in the b - I wish I had as it might mean there's a logical reason why it's not working :(

Format usb key to fat32---unzip file and add to key then put key into box and upgade as image file.
Reformat key--back into box---go to XMLTV app and away you go.
Simples.

Hi all
Did the download as per instructions, set to auto update, downloaded EPG and all worked fine. after a few days EPG disappeared. Went back to tools EPG and it said Needs updating, although auto update still turned on. I am having to manually download EPG every couple of days. I do turn box to standby every night. Help please

The EPG gives me about 4 days guide then it does need updating.Sometimes it will do it itself but only if the box is on standby (look for EP 9 on the display) which means it is updating.However a lot of the time I have to manually do it.It only takes 2 mins anyway and its not a real issue for me to be honest.

Yeah i've tried that - I've followed Reapers instructions to the letter but still no luck. You can see from the images attached that the guide is downloading but as soon as I click epg there is nothing there. I have also noticed that the box seems to be set to the year 1903. Is there a way of getting it out of this habit?

Have you tried what I suggested above?

If your box is a copy V8s or an openbox by Yojia try this f/w as it may just sort your problem.
Remember you try any f/w at your own risk but this file is tested.

Did you set the box to a free to air channel?
Before you started and when you finished just a thought, had the same problem with the father in laws but his is working fine now

Hey Guys

My box has done the same asapscott9! The EPG was working fine up until last night and then today it has dissapeared and the date is showing 1903, exactly as the screen shots above.

I havent changed any setting or anything, its just stopped working??????

Ok ive just had a play about and its working again.

I removed the usb stick and deleted everything on it, then started again as per instructions from Reaper, the whole image file update and everything.

The date is correct and the EPG is back??? just a glitch I suppose!!

I noticed the same thing last night on a V6. It was showing the 1903 date & showing ?????? where the time & date should be on the programme info.

I tried deleting the 21.fci & 21.fpg files & installing the EPG again, but with the same result, even after rebooting the box a few times.

Turned the box on this morning, & EPG back to normal! :dunno:

well I've come home from work to try it again and rather bizarrely the date now shows todays date instead of 1903. I have absolutely no idea how or why this happened but thank you to everyone for their help!

It just takes a reboot I think to sync properly.

Thanks. Hopefully it will fix the epg issues.

edit: Mine is exactly the same as apscott. I can see the listings on the first pic but then they dont transfer over the main EPG page. It shows the wrong date still 1903. :(

Should i remove my cline usb b4 trying to upload the epg fix via a 2nd usb?

Got an upgrade mismatch error...anyone help plz

Why do you have a cline usb in?
Once the line is installed then the usb key should be removed.
Format a key to FAT32, add the fix epg file which is a .abs file [you should have unzipped this after downloading]Go to fta channel and insert key.
Now go to tools--upgrade by usb--leave as image file---scroll down to start and load it. When complete,safely remove key, exit and reboot.
Now you can go to XMLTV and upgrade the epg.

Hi reaper sorted that issue we discussed earlier today...have removed cline usb now also.regarding the fix I'm not sure which file i should use..there are several with different numbers in the thread..the one i selected was on your earlier post V8 V6 150519.abs however it was not a zip file and when i try to install via usb on my V8S it says upgrade mismatch.

ps i did format the usb via fat32 and nothing else is on the usb

pps i have just spotted another post of yours suggesting the installation of the following fix OPENBOX_V8S_3511HD_CMT_150519039D.abs
