XLMTV fix for V6/V8

Right..f/w updated then added the v8 v6 15 05 19abs then updated the xmltv list via the box..all updated successfully..no epg list appears tho :-( now it say no information on screen..where previously it used to show now n next..

ps noob mistake....do you leave the usb in because its written too?

In case anyone's got an sV6 box, I downloaded the xlmtv fix for a V6 and put it on the sV6. Worked straightaway - just some channels without info which was always normal. Another thing that happened (that I'm aware of) is that time is about 3 or 4 minutes forward. i.e. If the time's actually midday, it will show as 12.03. As I live in France and the time is an hour in front, if I advance the time then it also advances the epg by an hour. So I stick with English time as you would on a Slybox anyway. As the box is new, I'm not sure if I had the youtube (and youporn - not that I'm bothered about that) app before adding the epg fix. If I did have it then I don't have it now. Overall can't complain. Hope this helps someone

Hi, i am new to this but am a quick learner.. I have just purchased th V8s and a 1TB hdd to record on plus use for epg. I tried to upgrade XMLEPG but it fails at write back. The disk is formatted to fat 32 and have tried tried the fix. V8 V6 150519.abs file is in root but when i try to flash as image i get file mismatch.. My firmware is 3511HD 07-12-2014-0923. What am i doing wrong?

It has to be upgraded as an image file not a miscellaneous file

That is what I did pal but no joy!! Just says file mismatch. Is it the right file for my firmware?

The file is the right when you go to upgrade by usb it should be upgrade mode image file which you have done. Below that it should say upgrade file v8 v6 150519 below that keep dbs and setting weather below that start

When you downloaded the file did you take it out of the folder before putting it on your usb

Hi, thanks for reply, when i downloaded the file it did not need taking out of any file, it was already the .abs image file, it wasnt in a rar file or anything like that, but it does not say v8 v6 150519 under upgrade image file

I've read your post again , instead of trying to install via HDD , put the file on a USB {format to fat 32 first). read a post in this thread which mentioned this problem, let me know how you get on

Ha ha! I don't know why but it has worked this time. I had tried my hdd about 5 times, 2 different usb's about 5 times all formatted to fat 32. Just would not work. Even tried usb one more time with usb this morning, no joy! so thought one more time with hdd before giving up and at last it worked.
So happy now. Thank you so much for your help!!

I believe the update is actually a firmware update pal. I just flashed it straight over. The problem I had was getting my box to see the actual update. Once I could see it under update image it worked fine

Hi there my box keeps saying decompress failed please check disc free volum, I've tried removing space from the usb stick but still comes back to failed? Help please.

Yeh that's what was happening to me until I did the xmlepg update mate. Once flashed that it worked fine
